What's new

Oof

I noticed they started playing God Save the Queen right after Obama said "queen." Maybe that is the protocol.

Yeah, it's like the secret word on Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Anytime anyone says "Queen" they start playing the anthem. Those crazy brits sure do know how to have a good time.

LOL, I already mentioned that though I put it in the context of a Monty Python sketch. So you'd rather watch Pee Wee's Playhouse, is that it?

Actually you are supposed to give a specific toast to the Queen, and that toast is followed by the anthem.

You ain't supposed to go on about the vi..........tality of friendship and whatever other bs jabbermouth went on with.

Difficult to trust in some people when every little thing the President does is bad or embarrassing. Something like this? Please... I see worse literally every day at work. The other day I almost caught my wang in my fly. that could have been disastrous.

Wow did you write this now or 6 years ago. During the Bush presidency that is all that was in the media, every tiny little thing Bush did that could in any way be contrived to be embarrassing or bad. I remember when they were on the kick about how he can't speak english and one news channel played a clip of him over and over merely stuttering slightly, nothing any worse at all than Obama and his constant "um, uh, um, uh" and they news guys acting like it was the dumbest thing anyone has ever done, saying "how did this guy ever get to be president".

I agree. I often found myself defending Bush because the criticisms were so over the top. And I never liked Bush! Now I find myself defending Obama a lot, and I don't really like him, either. It's all about scoring political points, truth and intellectual honesty be damned.

It's gotta go both ways...else it's racist.

Are you serious? Bush had some pretty famous malapropisms. I remember far more being made of those than any stuttering or anything like that.

Now personally, my favorite Obama quote occurred in a diner when a reporter started asking him foreign policy questions:

Obama said:
Why can't I just eat my waffle?

I'm sure every president going back to the invention of waffles has asked that question internally before.
