Open Practice Live Stream

The video quality was too poor to take much away from the scrimmage. Listening to Quin coach at the start and hearing his answers to questions at the end was pretty cool.

My super preliminary based on almost nothing thoughts:
- Whiteside is going to be an upgrade defensively, but might bog down the second unit offense a little.
- Jared Butler continues to look like he belongs. I'm looking forward to preseason.
- No thoughts on Pascall yet.

Hassan is a guy who can catch the ball further out on the floor than Rudy, and Hassan might be able to get away with taking a dribble from the foul line. I'm interested to see how the Jazz make use of that. Hopefully, if he's playing limited minutes he can play with more energy than he often does.

Jared Butler looks really confident with the ball in his hands, and he's confident shooting the ball out to at least 28 feet or so. I have to think he's going to get some minutes, even in short bursts this year.

I was surprised by how involved Elijah Hughes was in the practice, but I think that's mainly because Bojan and Rudy Gay sat out.

We still don't look all that athletic. In the scrimmage, Jordan Clarkson actually looked like our most impactful athlete, though Donovan wasn't really pushing full speed.

A few observations:

- I didn’t have a lot of time so I watched this in 1.5 speed. This is how I get through the occasional podcasts and the media day interviews.

- For a lot of talk about concerns of age, a lot of our guys are looking really quick.

- Did Clarkson get an Ingles tattoo on his left face?

I think he had to match the one on his back face. But his bottom face and side face are both fine.

The butler play was honestly the only highlight of the entire practice.

I was surprised at how much they gave Hughes the ball to create. He didn't look bad either.
