Openly Gay Man Called To Serve in Key LDS Position

I have imagined a place without religion. I see Pol Pot, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong. Over 100 million deaths. Oceans of blood and mountains of bodies. Atheists regimes are new to the world. They haven't started until the 20th century. It has been the most bloody century in the history of the world. I have seen it. No thanks. I will live my happier, less likely to commit suicide, more likely to have success life.

According to the most recent Eurobarometer Poll 2005
32% of Norwegian citizens responded that "they believe there is a God"
47% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force".
17% answered that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, God, or life force".
4% answered that they "do not know".
Here you go buddy, I know you can't put 2 and 2 together so I'll help you out. It's the least I can do. It's a sort of charity helping the people who aren't as intelligent as I.

Lol, you crack me up with your twists..... So you call Norway largely atheistic country in one post and how they are badly depressed with no god in their lifes, yet then compare it to Lithuania who has only 12% atheists and call it almost the same? Dude, make your mind once.
And calling yourself intelligent does not mean you are.... makes you cocky and arrogant.

You trully are ignorant stubborn loser. They killed because of ideology not because they were atheists. Crusaders on the other hand killed millions because Pope ordered to do so "in the name of god".

Me saying I'm intelligent doesn't make me intelligent. Me being intelligent makes me intelligent. That is the simple fact that anyone who knows anything or is honest with themselves can't deny.

Denmark Sucks, is this is one big unhappy and depressed country?
Previously, a survey from The university of Leicester came up with the idea that Denmark is the "happiest place on earth". This came as a bit of a surprise to me, seeing as how Denmark is the country that ranks some of the highest in terms of suiciderates, mental illness and depression.

https://www.sst.dk/publ/tidsskrifter/vital/2001/vital01_04/kap13.htm

This new evidence from The National Healthservice of Denmark ( Sundhedsstyrelsen ) shows that once in a lifetime 600.000 people in Denmark will suffer from depression. That is out of a small population of 5,5million people. Something is not quite right in the State of Denmark.

Taken straight from the article:

"Man skønner, at der i Danmark er 200.000 voksne - eller fire til fem procent af den voksne befolkning – som til enhver tid lider af depression. Ca. dobbelt så mange har haft en depression inden for det seneste år. I alt regner man med, at 600.000 danskere får en depression i løbet af deres liv."

Translated directly into English. https://www.translate.google.com

"It is estimated that in Denmark there are 200,000 adults - or four to five per cent of the adult population - who at any time suffer from depression. Approximately twice as many had depression within the past year. In total it is estimated that 600,000 Danes have a depression during their lives."

Additionaly, two new surveys from OECD, showed that Denmark ranks high in terms of mental illness.

Danes are mentally worn out
14. feb. 2011 14.06 English
Denmark is the country in the world where most citizens have to leave the labor market because of mental illnesses.
This discouraging fact is evident from a new comprehensive OECD-report, writes Berlingske.
The report reveals that when four Danes were approved for incapacity benefits or a flex job in 1995, the reason was mental illness in one out of four cases. Today every other person has a mental illness.
This makes Denmark the global front-runner of an international trend where more and more workers find themselves bedbound due to mental illness.

Denmark has most mentally ill pensioners
18. jan. 2011 14.45 English
Schizophrenia, severe anxiety, depression and other mental disorders cause more people to retire due to disability than before.
In 1999, one in four new disability pensioners suffered from a mental disorder, a statistics that had Denmark rank sixth compared to other OECD countries.
Every other pensioner is affected
Nine years later, the survey showed a different picture.
In 2008, close to every other Danish disability pensioner suffered from a mental disorder, the highest share in all of the OECD, according to Local Government Denmark’s newsletter Momentum.
The number of new disability pensioners each year has also increased, just as the total number has swelled, with some 250,000 Danes receiving disability benefits today.
The employers’ responsibility
Vilhelm Borg, Senior Researcher at the National Research Centre for the Working Environment, thinks that society should be far more cautious in placing people on permanent disability benefits.
- As a rule, the employers should do far more to retain mentally vulnerable employees by modifying the work for when they go through a difficult patch, he says to Momentum.
He thinks that the Danish top spot in the OECD survey may be a result of the custom in other countries of relatives providing for and nursing the mentally ill at home.

This is well backed up by the fact that Denmark is ranked relatively high in terms of suiciderates.

This leaves me with the question: With mental illness, depressionrates and suiciderates in Denmark being high, was this whole idea of "Happy Denmark" one big illusion, or was it made purely and solely for tourism purposes?

Me saying I'm intelligent doesn't make me intelligent. Me being intelligent makes me intelligent. That is the simple fact that anyone who knows anything or is honest with themselves can't deny.

Well you neither look or act intelligent. If you would be inteligent you would agree with simple facts that religion does not make you better person, it is so simple it is not even worth wasting time on this silly discusion. It is like arguing with stubborn kid who screams that snow is black...
USA - highly religious country - high rate of teen pregnancy, abortions, std, crimes.
Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Japan - highly atheistic countries - low rates of teen pregnancy, abortions, STD's, crimes.

Yet you trying to act like blindman and ignore this and stick to your idiotic statement that "religion" makes you better. No it does not. Done talking to you as you are hopeless.

I showed you 7 sources plus my college book proving you are wrong. You haven't had any resources saying anything about the std's and all that :).

See I go by evidence and science. I am rational, a free thinker, and a skeptic. That is why I believe in god. I don't do bind belief like the atheists. I've read God is Not great by Christopher Hitchens, and the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. You probably were brainwashed by pseudo intellectuals like them. Free your mind of dogma and surely you will believe in god if you have an ounce of rationality.

Read this book and you know true facts about Denmark:

Society without God: What the Least Religious Nations Can Tell Us About Contentment. by Phil Zuckerman.

Before he began his recent travels, it seemed to Phil Zuckerman as if humans all over the globe were “getting religion”—praising deities, performing holy rites, and soberly defending the world from sin. But most residents of Denmark and Sweden, he found, don't worship any god at all, don't pray, and don't give much credence to religious dogma of any kind. Instead of being bastions of sin and corruption, however, as the Christian Right has suggested a godless society would be, these countries are filled with residents who score at the very top of the "happiness index" and enjoy their healthy societies, which boast some of the lowest rates of violent crime in the world (along with some of the lowest levels of corruption), excellent educational systems, strong economies, well-supported arts, free health care, egalitarian social policies, outstanding bike paths, and great beer.

Zuckerman formally interviewed nearly 150 Danes and Swedes of all ages and educational backgrounds over the course of fourteen months. He was particularly interested in the worldviews of people who live their lives without religious orientation. How do they think about and cope with death? Are they worried about an afterlife? What he found is that nearly all of his interviewees live their lives without much fear of the Grim Reaper or worries about the hereafter. This led him to wonder how and why it is that certain societies are non-religious in a world that seems to be marked by increasing religiosity. Drawing on prominent sociological theories and his own extensive research, Zuckerman ventures some interesting answers.

This fascinating approach directly counters the claims of outspoken, conservative American Christians who argue that a society without God would be hell on earth. It is crucial, Zuckerman believes, for Americans to know that “society without God is not only possible, but it can be quite civil and pleasant

Denmark has the highest alcohol abuse, suicide, mental illness, and depression. No thanks. I understand you are free to chose the disillusioned life of an atheist. Just make sure to call the suicide hotline before pulling the trigger.

This is well backed up by the fact that Denmark is ranked relatively high in terms of suiciderates.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate

So lets look how religion helps USA in this suicide ranking? Highly religious country like USA ( 96 % religious people) has 11.8 suicide index per 100k population and Denmark who has 80% atheists only 11.9? I guess math is simple here.... percentage of atheists commiting suicide in Denmark is less then percentage of religious people commiting suicide in USA. Busted again.
