Paris under attack

Would you really want them to? Seems like that would be asking for the sort of trouble that none of us need.

I'm not saying that they should or should not take Syrian refugees, it's up to them. What I don't understand is why are they always playing the victim card preaching how Israel is in such a constant danger while at the same time antagonizing the Muslim population.

And yes I would love them to. It would show a sign of great progress in a country where you have to renounce to your religion of origin and convert to Judaism if you want to become an Israeli citizen. Could you imagine if any western country had such a policy?

The reason I used Israel as an example is because they are the country that is always the most victimized in this conflict. So I find it kind of ironic that they would want to antagonize the Muslim population evermore by not allowing Syrian civilians to escape from the tragedy of war. But please don't add Saudi Arabia to the equation, it takes everything away from my original question.

Fixed :)

basically Turkey shot down a Russian warplane they say violated its airspace. Russia admits that Turkey shot down its plane and is pissed. They deny that it violated Turkey's airspace. Both pilots parachuted out but their fate is unknown.

NATO is holding an emergency meeting today to talk about this.

A thought I had is: Was this planned by Turkey/America to keep NATO countries (France and England specifically) from joining Russia in Syria? It's possible.

Turkey shoots down Russian jet

Putin finally got smacked back. About ****ing time.

NATO is holding an emergency meeting.

Rebels have claimed to have killed both pilots

Putin claimed that Turkey is supporting and financing terrorists

Russia has warned all its citizens to avoid Turkey

Russian Defense minister cancelled a planned trip today/tomorrow to Turkey

maybe this should be merged into the "Paris Under Attack" thread since it's under discussion there as well...

anyone?

I heard on the radio as I arrived at work that word was just coming in of Turkey shooting down a second Russian fighter jet. I don't see anything about it on the interweb. Was it a mistaken report?

maybe some confusion with the fact that there were two pilots - one dead and one supposed captured, but some conflicting reports that there were two dead pilots?

here's a link that seems to have good information:
