Patrick Beverley Available

We lost to the Warriors. What does every opponent of the Warriors need more of? Perimeter defense and offensive rebounding. Bev helps with both. Hay would definitely see the acquisition as one step in the right direction.

Beverly is a better defender than Hill, younger, and way cheaper... I think if you ignore the Hayward relationship Bev at 2/10>Hill at 4/80.

Do it if available... figure the rest out later.

I'm just not sure this ever happens. Maybe they do... I don't know. I've never been given the impression that they will do it.

Locke talked about this about a week ago, guaranteeing that they will pay the tax when the time comes. However, I have doubts about things once the repeater tax kicks in, so if they are able to keep Hillward, I think it's important to stay under the tax for one more year, and then we can pay the tax for 2 years before having to get under.

How sweet would it be to have both Hill and Beverly defending on the perimeter with Rudy guarding the rim?

Add Hayward and Ingles... shooting... defense... ball handling...

I am in.

Why are people thinking Hill is going to get 20 million a year. He is around 30 with a bad toe. His defense has slipped and there is really no competition for him except SA and they are not going to pay him 20 million.

I can't believe anyone thinks Beverly is anything close to Hill. I wouldn't mind him as a backup but there really isn't a comparison here.

The more I think about this the more I think we've gotta do it. Plays defense, shoots the three, has nastiness (team in desperate need of this), and grabs 6 rebounds per game as a 6'1" guard -- that's more than anyone on our team not named Gobert (he's essentially tied with Favors at 6.1/GM).

If real life were NBA2kwhatever, I'd move for Beverly, then go for Danny Green, then use Hood, Favors and Exum and considerations for Love. Would send out Burks and Lyles for nothing (there won't be any takers). Take Ojeleye with our remaining pick. Then sign Bogut.

Hill / Beverly
Green / Ingles
Hayward / Johnson
Love / Bolomboy
Gobert / Bogut

Ojeleye plays 3/4.

Perimeter shooting is improved (everyone but the 5s shoot threes), defense gets better, nastiness grows exponentially.

I don't care if that doesn't get past GSW. We bruise the **** out of them. Good luck for Draymond trying to pull **** on that roster.

I'll now return my expectations to just hoping we could get Beverly and Hill on the same team.

He's a better defender... not nearly as good on offense, but there is not a $15M difference per year between them...

He gets 15-20... maybe a bit more depending on situation. If we offer 18 and SA offers 15... he chooses SA.
