No no no.. No one is getting extended, even after a mini playoff trip
Here is a thought for everyone on this very subject. What happens if the Jazz get into the playoffs and actually make a little run? Are they then going to extend Jefferson, Millsap, Harris and possibly even Miles past the end of their respective contracts? Are they going to just hope the the playoff experience was enough for the Fearless Four (yes, I am going to run with it) and still move those vets?
Don't forget Harris. I imagine is value will be Pretty high as well.
This debate has been brewing on here for quite some time. I personnally am torn on which I prefer.
I have a hard time not routing for the Jazz to win and I also love watching this team in the playoffs. The experience could be huge for the young guys and build the confidence of this team.
On the other hand this team could reallly use a good young SF and PG to go with the rest of this lineup. And I think they could get them in the draft this year.
Hence, why I said this isn't a black or white choice. It's complicated. I didn't say my question was perfect and addressed every single issue. But it's surely better than asking... PICK or PLAYOFFS?
Well duh, I'd rather have the playoffs.
But I want a championship run and would much rather roll the dice in the lotto than being dumped quickly in the playoffs.
If we miss out on both picks and Lillard or Marshall tear it up we may be wanting to kick KOC, Corbin, and the players. One unrestricted PG to look at seriously if we dont get one in the draft will be Dragic. Played extremely well as a started in Houston.
If we want to get in the lottery we can through trades.
It's a straight forward question. We make the playoffs and we lose our pick. We miss the playoffs we get our pick. Which would you rather have. The stuff with the GSW pick is immaterial to our situation and our pick. We have no control over that pick whatsoever. The poll question is flawed, as you can tell by most posts in this thread.
Most are still connecting the a lotto pick with the playoffs. Whether it be through the GS pick or trade.
One can only infer that this isn't a black and white question as the pole wants to indicate.
A better question would be,
would you rather be in the playoffs as a 6-8 seed and not have any draft picks this year or miss out on the playoffs and have at least 1 lotto pick?
How would you feel if we get swept in 4 games by OKC?

There is no flaw with the question. You are making it far too complicated.
