What's new

Couldn't have said it better, Numberica.

Big Al is almost a carbon copy of Boozer. He gets 20/10 but it's almost always quiet - i.e. few FT's and no physical presence on defense. His contract likely makes him untradeable - unless we want even a worse contract in return. I understand and accept that he'll probably be around until next year, either the entire season or until a team has to give up value for an expiring contract.

I share your frustration regarding the wings. Miles won't be here next year and Bell either needs to be traded or released. The priority should be on giving Burks 30 mins per so he'll be a solid starter heading into next season. And definitely +1 for the "Grandma Roller Derby" nickname.

but Burks has to earn it first....

Most of you are smarter than me when it comes to this ****, or maybe just in general, but what would you say if I told you that Jefferson is 11th in the NBA in PER at 23+? Does it mean next to nothing?

Jefferson has always put up good offensive numbers. Where have those numbers led his teams?
The writing is on the wall for Jefferson. While he has improved some since being on the Jazz, he's not the guy we need going forward. Look who is backing him up. They both need to play. Now.

The most surprising thing about Jefferson apologists on this board is their propensity to think he will do something for us that he's never done in his ENTIRE career: win. He's not leading us anywhere. ever.

Trade him.

Thanks for the responses. Very fair. I suppose much of my point is/was, of the two, would keeping Millsap be the wise move? I suppose, based on salary alone, yes.

Millsap is easily the guy you keep.
More efficient scorer; better in the flow of the offense; better defender; better in the clutch; better paycheck; etc.

I'm desperately hoping that Jefferson is traded by the 15th, but I'm pretty sure he won't be. I just hope they trade him before next season begins.

Jefferson is bigger and has nicer post moves. That is literally it. Millsap is better in every other way and is paid significantly less. On top of that, Millsap is the only true Jazzman on the roster, I would like to keep SOME tradition/continuity.

Chicken and egg. Have you seen the numbers George is now putting up as a starter in Indiana? He had a rough time when he was first put in the starting lineup; now he's their leading scorer a lot of nights. A lot of very good players have struggled in their first season. It's not like the Jazz have MJ or Kobe ahead of Burks. We have Raja and Chucker. IMO, this is almost as bad as when Sloan was keeping Deron on the bench behind Palacio and McCleod. Not quite...not even Raja and Chucker are that bad, but I guarantee you Burks can contribute more than what Raja is producing.

Haven't you guys figured it out? Corbin hates Burks and wants to keep him nailed to the bench. Not only that, but Corbin hates YOU and the more you are pissed off, the more happy he is.

Also, he is scared to freaken death of Bell and will do anything to keep him placated.

You underestimate the power of hate.

You underestimate the power of homerism. Ya ya ya, we all know, Al Jefferson is a future HOF and if only the Jazz had a 3 point shooter we'd sweep the OKC and then the Heat for a championship.

Funny, being called a homer on a JAZZ FAN board.
Of course I am a homer. I cheer for the jazz. I like players on the Jazz, I hate players on the Lakers.

Right now, Al Jefferson plays for the jazz so I root for him. I also root for CJ and Howard. I also root for Bell to break his leg.

So you admit your hypocrisy. Racking them up tonight huh? lol
