If the Celtics were able to secure Jimmy Butler or Kristaps Porzingis, this would be game over for Utah, imo. But the fact that the Celtics haven't got another marquee player to join Hayward in Boston gives Utah a slight advantage. It's hard to turn down an extra $40M staring you in the face, when it's backed by Rudy Gobert and a talented roster that puts the Jazz in the top 3 in the west and top 5 in the league. The burden is on Boston to make Hayward give up that situation, and so far, the Celtics haven't made the big move.

I'll say it's 60% Utah, 30% Boston, 10% Miami.

I'm assuming this has been mentioned, but if there's any truth to Hayward wanting George Hill to be re-signed by the Jazz then one would have to assume Hayward would re-sign with us if we sign Hill. If we can sign Hill for $15,000,000 a season to keep Hayward I'd do it. Then I'll make a sacrifice to the foot gods in hopes Hill's toes don't fall off like last season.

People talk about walking if Hayward leaves. If we give Hill $25 and Hayward $35, go ahead and walk. We cannot contend with those 2 making that much.

I think it's ******** Hayward is holding us hostage like this. Until last year, he hasn't been a star. And I still have questions on how elite he actually is. We are so desperate to keep him that we might sign 2 contracts that will act like an anchor on title hopes.

This... he isnt the best player on the team right now. He isnt better than Dwill was when we moved him. Millsap has been a better player making more allstar teams. We will be fine without him. But, if we go all out for him we are guaranteed to be stuck in the middle. Wasting our young assets to appease Hayward.
