Play Along - if we HAD to trade

I think the worst thing that could ever happen to Rudy Gobert would be the trade of Favors. Favors is the anchor of this defense. His help defense and lateral quickness helps Gobert be Gobert. There is a reason the Jazz were the best defense after the Kanter trade. And it wasn't just cause Gobert came in along side Favors, it's because Favors helps Gobert more than anyone realizes.

Okay, do it.

Trade Favors for Conley? Hell No. There isn't a trade you could make that would get back fair value for Favors. It is almost impossible to trade a non-all star with all star numbers, because the incoming fan base would scream at giving up the value required. Once they have that damn "all-star" label, you can Deron Williams them pretty easily.

An all-star level player is what we should be trading him for if we ever trade him. I don't think it's worth it trading him for anything less and I wouldn't be trading him for a bunch of smaller assets.

If I absolutely HAD to trade Favors or die, it would have to be for Ibaka. I can't see anyone else working for us and the trade feels kind of sideways and pointless, especially since we would need to include more outgoing. . .

I feel like people even here are undervaluing Favors. You realize he just had 28/14 season(per 100 pos) with elite defense at the 4 spot at age 23? He had better scoring and rebounding numbers than first team all NBA Marc Gasol and all-stars Paul Millsap and Al Horford, while having about the same efficiency. He's a future all-star if we are in playoff contention and he keeps developing his offensive game... All he needs now is exposure to get the recognition he deserves.

Conley is free agent next year BTW. If we make a serious push this year even without a PG, is there a chance he would consider us?

Boston would probably give up anyone on their roster.

Orlando could offer one of their better young players.

Lakers might offer Randle.
