For everyone questioning whether the boycott will do anything, the answer is simple: it is up to us. We, as fans, are the target of this boycott. Not the team owners, or tv stations, but us. If we want basketball back in our lives then it is up to us to do something about it.

If you love a sport primarily played by black men but do not care about the lives of black people that is a problem. If you love basketball like I do, you must care about the people who make that possible. If they are telling us this issue is more important then playing basketball then we need to listen. If they tell us No Justice, No Peace, we need to understand that we do not get the peace that comes from escaping into our fandom until there is justice. How long that takes depends on us. Societies can change rapidly with enough pressure.

I am a white 40-year-old man who grew up in Utah and have loved the Jazz since I was 5 years old. I stand with the Utah Jazz and am ready to do whatever I can to support, protect, and defend the communities of these amazing people and athletes.

How many people are racist that would admit they are racist? How many act racist but don't realize it? Are there different levels of it? And what is realistic to change as a society? I don't want canned answers or crappy finger pointing because it hasn't worked.

I think there were dozens of players who didn't want to go to the bubble to begin with. The Locked on Nuggets dude said that there were several guys on the Denver team that didn't want to play. I think many other players showed up only because they didn't want to let their teammates down (you can probably include Donovan in that group). And some just plain needed the money.

And I'm willing to bet the ranch the only reason LeBron was for it was so he can add another ring to his legacy (and I'm mostly a fan of LeBron). If this was last season when LeBron was hurt he would have been against it and we'd probably never have a re-start/playoffs.

And the optics are horrible. A bunch of guys (mostly black) sequestered in a bubble in the deep south and left with nothing to do but perform for the public.

Truthfully everyone has some amount of racism in them. So if you want to fight racism then how can you fight it? Do you start saying notions and cloudy ideas or do you put large groups unfairly into groups? We can't control it 100% but you can be fair. You can be just. You can be respectful.
