Players the Jazz need to go after that we can realistically "acquire"

Who do you think the Jazz could acquire, being through trade or maybe upcoming FA signing. I think one player that could have great upside in this league is Reggie Jackson. He is listed as a PG, but the Thunder use him for a SG as much as they do a PG. I would love to see a trade involving Alec Burks in exchange for Jackson. OKC has been very successful using a double PG back court. We have good PG's in Burke and Exum and we also have great versatility in using a double PG back court. Jackson is in his 3rd year like Burks but has a slight edge in scoring efficiency and a better PER. I think he would be provide a great double threat for us. He also has been doing a great job getting to the line and finishing at 90% FT %. The Jazz are in need of more players that can not only get to the line but finish their opportunities once they get there.
 
Goran Dragic. Imagine what he would do to this team when he takes the playmaking burden off of Hayward`s shoulders.

As for the original trade, why would OKC want to pay Alec 10+ million a year when they most likely can keep Jackson for the same amount?
 
With the emergence of Rudy, Enes becomes expendable and trade bait. I'd like to see the Jazz trade him in a package for the Celtics' Jeff Green, a great stretch 4 who could be paired with Rudy and provide badly needed scoring. Likewise, I've become disenchanted with Burke and his inability to shoot. Package him and Burks to Phoenix for Bledsoe or Dragic. I like a line-up of Bledsoe or Dragic, Dante or Hood, Hayward, Favors or Green, and Gobert.

Why not trade him for a bag of chips instead. The Celtics want to dump green's contract badly and have since the day they got him. Why give up an up and coming 22 year old big man who could average 20 and 10 for a player that could be had for 2 second round draft choices? I just don't get the Kanter hate.
 
Alec is pretty much our only player in the regular rotation who shoots above average from 3 and Jackson is shooting under 30% for his career and .269 this year. That would do wonders for our spacing...

I think Alec is close to turning the corner, he's been having some great passing games. If only something switched in his brain and he realized that him taking wide open 3s on catch and shoot opportunities is a much better shot than catching and putting the ball on the floor before deciding to shoot(usually long 2s) or trying to drive into traffic, where the flashiness of some of his finishes serve as fool's gold to the public("Houdini"?) and himself. When you realize he's shooting under 50% on his drives(under 1.0 ppp), while his catch and shoot from 3 has been great(41% last season(1.23ppp), 43% this season(1.29ppp)), you just have to hope that our coaching staff will try to uproot that instinct of his and replace it with a much smarter game...
 
I'd rather keep Burks than replace him with Jackson. At the very least, Burks has dominant 6th man potential, but he's shown significant improvement in a number of areas as a starter under Quin Snyder. I think he's got a lot of growing yet left to do as a player.

The Jazz should not trade away assets for players that are RFAs. Just offer them a contract in the offseason. My biggest concern is that they trade for a guy who doesn't perform as well as expected (on a young team and with a rookie head coach) but then the Jazz are forced to decide whether or not to match a contract in the offseason. At least Enes has been with the Jazz his whole career and has had the whole season in this dynamic for the team to decide if he fits the long-term vision.

Also, all this talk about Green and Jackson is stupid. The Jazz don't need role players, they need All-Stars. It's just dumb to burn significant assets for role players. I don't know which stars are going to end up on the trading block by the deadline, but those are the guys that the Jazz should be focused on. If they can get a young guy with potential for pretty cheap. . . then great. Go make those deals. Otherwise, sit tight, develop your core guys and be ready for when a blockbuster deal comes available.
 
we already have two point guards. no way in hell we need a third.

we should get gerald green. or a big that can defend opposing teams' stretch 4s
 
Dragic seems like a perfect fit for Quin's system, have to imagine he's about the highest on their list. His contract is tricky though, he has been in the league 8 years so could get a massive contract offer from a desperate team.
Its probably better to just go after him in free agency.
