Burks is not only the best option now but he will pay the most dividends. Just like Hayward he will have an adjustment period getting used to more leadership. Luckily he will have a much better team to go through it with so he/we shouldn't suffer so much. Once he acclimatizes to his new role there's gunna be many more Burks fanboys around here.
 
some of you will cringe when I say it, but it seems like POINT GOD ALEC BURKS is the best answer right now.

We have assets. This is DL's number one priority at the moment and he will be making plenty phone calls in a couple months. It's still in wait and see what we have mode, but you know his fingers are twitching for a trade.

Why do you think Hayward is one of the better wings in the league in assists? Is it because hes a bad passer?

If any wing on the Jazz was qualified to run the point it's Hayward. Not Burks or anyone else.

Basically you are saying Hayward is a bad passer, can't run the pick and roll, can't get into the lane. It's simply not true

His USG% is on par with Steph Curry. Does he assist as much as Steph Curry?
 
Honestly I think Burks has looked more like a pg then sg. He's not really a shooter, he can shoot but doesn't utilize his J like other sg,s but he's got good handles and can attack for himself or for others with drive and dish in a somewhat Westbrook type role. He's an underrated dribbler and passer and these days seems to have more pg skills then sg skills.

Hayward doesn't play the same role as Curry. He doesn't have the same teammates. Warriors have better scorers. Haywards assists would go up if he played the point guard. And Curry is a better passer. But that doesn't mean Hayward can't pass. You just compared him to the league MVP. It's not a surprise that he averages more assists. Regardless if the USG% is the same.
 
I totally disagree with the idea that Burks can play point guard. He doesn't have the handles to do so. His crossover is pretty weak. He can occasionally run the pick and roll, but it doesn't look natural.

I don't see a point guard in Burks. I I never have. But having said that. I'd rather he play him than Burke. Because I believe in just putting the best players out there, and not playing someone at the point just because they are short and that should be their role. If they suck, then they suck.

But if we have to choose which wing will run the point, it's Hayward every single time. 10 times out of 10 and it's not close either.

Where is even the proof that Burks would be better than Hayward at the point? Has he ever had over 10 assists in a game? He barely puts up 3 or 4 on a good night. While Hayward routinely puts up high assist numbers.

I can't believe anyone would really even debate this.

you sound like a dumbass right now. Everybody talk about a point-guard-less lineup and you're trying to define who the point guard is? Get with the 21st century. Buy some Carhartts and get to work.
