Actually, I see that as a hard lineup to play. Hood is too raw still. Hayward, Ingles, Burks might be the smoother choice for a while.

there was a point in time when hotttnickkk, our new moderator-and-chief, replied to this thread. In that reply he had quoted two of my posts (I got the quote notification). Then, he deleted the post entirely. This could be the silver-lining to his moderating position: a new sense of shame.

I think Hayward is the best option out of all the wings to run the point. He is just flat out better than anyone else on both sides of the ball. He doesn't need to be a standard point either. Hood and Burks can share the duties. But I'd have him guard the point guard's though.

Having Hood and Hayward on the court with Burks would be best. He need shooters around him.

Also, have Favors shoot threes.

I don't want Hayward guarding PG's simply because I think that gets him in foul trouble quite often. We need Hayward we don't want him in foul trouble.

FWIW they re-signed him after Dante got hurt for the year. So I doubt that is how the Jazz see him.

I think Ingles is a rotation player on any team he would be on. His ball movement and grittiness make him a valuable player to have on the court.

Just because Hayward would be a primary ball handler doesn't mean he would have to guard opposing PGs..

In the post I quoted he wanted him to guard the opponent PG. FWIW I like the idea of Hood, Burks and Hayward on the court together, at least a little bit. Mostly because I think Trey Burke is horrible with the other starters. I'm sick of watching Burke dribble for 20 sec. then throw up a bad shot while Favors, Hood, and Hayward are not getting the ball.

Oops you're right I missed that. Yeah I agree with you, Burke has been a nightmare.

Easy there NAOS you will be making King Cy upset. I was the one who originally said Burks could be a point guard when he was drafted and Cy got all upset about it and neged me.

People who cry about a previous neg amuse me. Just take the neg and accept it.

Burks isn't a PG though at all. Hayward makes for a better PG on the offensive end by far, and is the role he played last year. On offensive would you say Hayward played the PG or Exum? I would say Hayward's style more closely resembled that of a PG. Hayward can handle the responsibility of creating for himself and others in equal opportunities more so than Burks can. I use to think it was because Hayward had better vision (which he still does but the gap isn't as big as it use to be) but now I think it's because Hayward can break a defense down in more ways than Burks.

Defensively neither works, but I guess Burks has more potential on that end vs. PGs.

Equally neither, but might give slight edge to Hayward. Westbrooks relies a lot on his ridiculous combination of strength and explosive ability to get to the rim.

Hayward at least has strength in comparison to Westbrook. Both use their superior positional strength to get to the rim without much fancy dribble work or help from their teams.

I don't find Burks terribly explosive in any context, more a smooth athlete with a good first step and body control. He really relies on a lot of misdirection (almost too much so) to get to the rim with the ball needing to be reversed on an uneven court, rejecting a pick, or driving on bad closeouts.

I stopped right there. Point being, if most of the world is fine calling Westbrook a PG, then I don't care whether you call Burks one. Or not. Nor do I care whether you allude to Hayward's point guard abilities. Or not.
