What's new

Poker Fools Day 4-1 @ 8pm -- Poker Tournament rnd 2

Nothing like carrying a gun to a $20 poker game to make you feel like you really don't have a two inch ******. Jesus. Pathetic.

You're right GF--that's total ********. I didn't know either of them were packing at the time.
We (the winner, the bigger guy, and me) went to Denny's afterward and the bigger guy had his gun hanging out plenty visible. I called him out on it.
Maybe they were afraid of getting raped over $20. *******.

I hope you're not talking about me telling your friend I was cool with him being gay. He seemed fine and we shook hands at night's end. At the time I did not know he just got done having fun on the hood or in the back seat of a car. I hope he Purelled.

Everyone in your group was pretty cool. The guy open carrying seemed like a good guy. I do think the right thing to do would have been to ask me if it was okay to open carry at the game. I still wonder what his thought process was on the whole thing.

My buddy was a little offended. I think what you said to him was "Oh, you're that little gay guy." or something like that. Just to clarify, La Vida Loca and EMO girl brought their other friend last time, and he is in fact gay. My friend, who played last time, is not gay and wasn't really sure where you were coming from with that comment and I think he fired something back at you. It's all good. I think everyone involved is over it.

The table I was on was all happy-go-lucky but I was keeping my ears tuned to your table because it seemed like there was a lot of arguing. I was never sure if it was mostly joking around or if people were actually getting pissed. Hopefully people come to play a $20 poker tournament to have fun for the most part. Winning or losing isn't going to change anyone's life.

I thought he was a nice guy and conducted himself very well, too. But I understand Gameface's concerns, and I think he is completely correct to tighten up on this. I never worried about any of those guys, at any point. But it wasn't my house, either. Hopefully GF is more comfortable with the us (the JF guys) and feels like he knows us a little better now, after a couple of games. I really enjoy playing, and would hate to see GF shut it down.

Gameface: You need to print out a copy of those rules and give them to La Chica Loca, highlighting the half of them that apply directly to her.

I will have the rules printed out next time. Now that the group has a little more experience playing together I think it's time to tighten up on the rules a little.

La Chica Loca was under strict orders not to play. Had she not been begged to play and given free chips I think she would have obeyed.

The 15th is too soon for the next game. I've got my eye on early May. I'm open for suggestions. Would a Saturday afternoon game (starting around 2pm) work for people?

A lot of people didn't do the bounty last game. Should we continue it? I'm good either way.

Yeah this is why you don't invite people over from the internet. Naive mother ****ers.

I'm just glad crapratcho is ok!!!!

So far things have gone far better than I could have expected. I plan on doing it again.

You all noticed how many times I had to ask Lavida Loca to scoot over, right? I really can't help it that she wanted to ride The Trout's mustache, but she'll have to wait in line just like everyone else.

FWIW, I liked the sober guy who was packing, and wasn't intimidated by his firearm at all. I thought the evening went off like a 70's porno. I would love to play again in a few weeks, but I'm not sure if Mrs. Trout is too keen on me losing another twenty five bucks. I'll keep you posted.

I figured you were writing your buy-in off as a business expense. Does someone actually have to buy insurance from you before you can do that? We'll have to talk...

Franklin asked him about insurance and they talked a little. He could turn it in as an expense.

FWIW about the guns: I never felt threatened or worried about them. I never noticed either of them drinking anything. Those of us not packing were the only ones to make a big deal about it. But I do agree with Gameface that they should have asked permission.

Yeah, I honestly didn't think much of it that night, but the guy from my work brought it up in front a a few other people and they were all astounded. From there I started to question it more and I let it get under my skin a little. I hope Franklin doesn't feel like he offended me or that I'm pissed at his friends. They were all cool. Even the drunk guy who won it was a pretty funny guy and didn't get out of control, imho. I am glad you guys (Franklin and the winner) had a sober driver, though.

Everyone from the site has been great. Not a single no-show in two games...that's damn near unheard of. Good people, and I do consider you guys friends at this point, not internet strangers. A few years ago I hosted games connected with "The Salt Lake Poker Meetup Group" on meetup.com before I took a long hiatus from poker. Good people there, too, but I've had more fun in these two games than I had in all the games I hosted for that group. There are a few who liked to play in my games who I'd like to get in touch with and invite to future games, but it was a much more hard core poker atmosphere with them. You guys really are a lot of fun.

Don't worry about me stopping the poker nights, I'm having much too good a time to even consider that.

Hope to see you all at the next game!
