First off, it’s a bad take, secondly, with the salary cap, you’re simply not going to have EVERYTHING on your NBA roster. The Jazz aren’t going any further in the playoffs until they can score more points. Period.
As badly as we all wanted the Gobert/Favors combo to work, it was something that was gonna hold us back until we decided to move on. I could give you numerous problems with the Raptors roster heading into last years playoffs, but in the end, that team ended up being greater than the sum of its parts. Hell, aside from Golden State these past few years, you could point out 2 or 3 fatal flaws from any of the legit “contenders”.
While Utah’s offseason is just good on paper at this point, 1 major thing keeps bringing me back to the fact that it’s ok to be downright giddy heading into this season: This roster is constructed of proven players that compliment each other’s games almost perfectly. Even taking off my Jazz-colored goggles, there’s not many teams over the past 5-10 years that boasted a more complete roster.
I’m absolutely convinced that the 6ers-Clippers-Jazz have far and away the 3 most complimentary rosters in the NBA.
