PoS fan who harassed Westbrook

I remember when heckling was considered an art form - where people actually gave it some thought and didn't resort to low blows and worse - racially tinged insults. Now it's become the equivalent of hurling vegetables at the performer.

Considering our entire fan base is about to be labeled racist because of the actions of one or two stupid fans, I would think you would understand why that is bad. Or no?

Here is what needs to happen -

#1 a full investigation on what the fan said

#2 a full, mouth reading investigation on how many times Westbrook cursed at the crowd last night. I swear he dropped the fbomb 20 times last night. He slapped his chest one time and screamed right at the crowd "get the f off me. You cant f with me."

If this whole thing becomes an attack on Utah and that fan instead of equal investigation including the player cussing and threatening, that is incredibly wrong.

What's funny about Westbrook's reaction to the crowd is that other players like ingles (blowing kisses) have shown how to handle heckling without just trying to initiate a brawl. Stick the dagger ON THE COURT then rub it in. No need for fake posturing and bluster when you have just dismantled their team and taken the W. While I agree the fan was way out of line and needs to be banned from all jazz games for life, Westbrook needs to get it out of his head that the only way to protect his "honor" is by being a huge douche literally ALL. THE. TIME.

The "playoff p" chant was kind of funny last year. Otherwise I agree with this. When you pay for tickets and you end having to sit next to a heckler it is the absolute worst.

Giving a little side eye or dropping a loud sarcastic "you showed him" goes a long way in those situations.

I'm used to a few morons talking **** to me in Sacramento or Oakland... most of the time we have a playful fun back and forth... but one moron messes it all up.

It's not because of this one incident though. This latest incident just seeks to confirm what a lot of outsiders believed - whether it is all based on fact or not. Just too many accusations over the years.

Watching the interview with the fan he seems sincere and his story is a good one. Ice your knees could totally sound like on your knees and be misheard. Or the guy could be totally full of ****. And a couple of posts ago i said that the guy is obviously racist based on the his facebook stuff and things he associates himself with and that isn't totally fair of me. Just cause you support the NRA or ben shapiro or trump or whatever doesn't make you racist. I think it increases the chances that you are racist but doesn't mean its a sure thing. The go back to where you came from comment definitely sounds racist if that is in fact what he said before.
As for the whole on your knees thing i associate that with more of a gay insult type thing than racism thing..... Which isn't really any better to be honest. But again, there is a chance that the dude is telling the truth about him saying ice your knees rather than on your knees.

And i dont want to blame the victim if westbrook was in fact the victim but would bet (i obviously dont know for sure) that westbrook gets the worst that fans have to offer in every arena he visits. I hate the personality/attitude/persona that westbrook displays on the court. Just seems like a miserable jerk all the time. Seems like he should have more fun and be happier while having basically the best job ever.

This whole situation sucks though because no matter what actually did or didn't get said by the fan or fans in any other of these situations, the jazz image takes a hit every time. I wish there was better evidence in these things cause its basically guilty until proven innocent for the perception of jazz fanz and that sucks. I walked into work today wearing a jazz beanie, jazz jacket, jazz pajama pants (i change into a uniform for work) and had my jazz water bottle just like most days, but today i felt a bit of shame....

In the court room of social media the order is 1) accuse 2) crucify and destroy and 3) move on to the next. There is no "innocence" on the internet.

Yell something like "Russ I think you are a B- dancer at best" "Russ your true shooting percentage is barely league average" "Russ my sister thinks your clothes are cool, but I think you try a little too hard"

Just dumb **** to try and make people laugh... acting hard is kinda tough cuz you paid to watch them guys, they can beat yo ***, and they make a billion times more money than you.

You can't say Russ though or you could get kicked out. Can't make it known who you are heckling.

This... both parties are guilty of being unoriginal here.

One of the best guys to talk smack was Stephen Jackson... heard him address a heckler by saying "I make 10M a year to play a game... what?" So much better than "I'll eff you up".

What if Russ said "down on my knees... bruh I made more money tonight than you'll make in your life".

I don't mind the fan to fan stuff if its somewhat playful but I do dislike the dude yelling bs to a player that is half a football field away.

I love the fan-to-fan banter... its cool. Yelling super loud at a player or ref is almost always an asshat move.

When it's at the ref it's usually long and incorrect.

I remember being involved in a chant vs Houston that went "Scola's greasy, clap clap clap clap clap, Scola's greasy"

That might get a fan in trouble though nowadays as it might be seen as going after his race or culture (Italians). Might cross the line. I really don't know.
