Pre-draft workouts

So only Hutchinson and Huerter missing, both of whom declined workouts. Probably got in most of the players they're considering with their 2nd round pick. The rest were workout fillers or Stars' candidates.

Huerter hurt himself (no pun intended) in one of his last workouts. We have cleared him of any wrong doing.

But that wasn't the reason he gave initially. he said he needed to go home and talk with his family about a decision (i.e. staying in the draft or returning to school). He lied.

I heard hes been around the practice facility and Lindsry calls him for help from time to time. But as a prospect he has a Small wing span and older than other prospects...

Or having surgery. How do you know he lied? Maybe the media got it wrong. Calling him a liar seems pretty harsh.

Seems like he wanted to maybe hide the injury so it wouldn't hurt his draft stock. Unless he got injured on the plane ride home though pretty sure he could not physically work out for the Jazz. So he gets a pass.

Probably. I remember the interview with Perrin and Walt seemed a little put out by the last minute cancellation. It was Perrin that said Huerter went home to talk to his parents about making a decision. But then there was a follow up questions about bringing him in later and Perrin said something like they had film if needed and had seen enough of him.

What I'll bet happened is exactly as you surmised...Huerter wanted to hide his injury. He may have thought it was something that wasn't going to require surgery until he got home and had it looked at by a doctor. Still, that sends up a red flag to me that he wasn't honest.

If this were politics, then technically he didn't lie. He did go home to consult with his parents. No one asked him about an injury and he didn't offer that information. So according to Trump or Clinton standards, he was 100% honest.

Didn't he re-aggrevate his finger at the Combine? Maybe he thought it was fine to do a workout, and then it flared up again?
