Preseason Game #3 Jazz at Lakers

What? He can't guard any position on the court, and outside of an occasional alley-oop, he can't really do anything offensively. Dude is end of the bench material at best.

This. Evans is a liability on both ends of the floor. Evans offensive game makes Favors look like a productive offensive player.

I have only seen Drummond from his stats and highlights, but he seems like he's going to be a legit bigman. I wish Favors would show some of that aggression/skill on the offensive end. I have been really disappointed with Favors and Hayward as well so far. Drummond has no shot, but still can rack up the points. Based of off three preseason games, I'm kind of jealous of the Pistons.

Lakers is way better than anyone in this league except Miami, you realize that Howard didnt play today? and he makes a lot of difference believe me. They will make the playoffs 2nd place worst case and then start real balling (as much as i hate to say that) once we hit March april or something

I could make the argument that Sacre is better than Howard on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively Howard destroys Sacre but when a team is trying to run the offense they just need to hope Howard can be productive.

For all the talk about Favors, Howard still really struggles with the ball in his hands. He has the benefit of calls that Favors doesn't get.

The thing that I have noticed is confidence. Drummond has it. He looks for a chance to throw it down in your face.

Favors and, Hayward seem to be lacking the needed confidence to take the next step. I would like to see Favors get a few more offensive fouls because he is playing through players instead of around players.

I was disappointed in the halfcourt offense last night against the Lakers. I think it's still a little early to give up on running more off-ball action, even with Al having trouble making reads and crisp passes. We saw a lot more dump it in and stand around last night than we did against the Thunder.

So far, Mo doesn't look very capable in halfcourt sets. He'll be a better shooter than Devin, compete hard more consistently, but it doesn't look like he'll be doing anything off the bounce. It'll be nice when Millsap gets back, so Favors can play some minutes with Tinsley, who'll be better able to run pick and rolls, and find him when he cuts or finds space on the baseline. Having Al and Mo out there with Favors isn't helping his offensive production. The Jazz need a point guard to maximize Favors' abilities (same applies for Millsap, who did a pretty fantastic job last year producing from spots/in situations that don't work to his strengths).

I have to say like everyone else that I am really excited with Kanter's progression. That guy can rebound the ball--even better than he did last year since he elevates better this year. It's not often that I enjoy seeing someone rebound, but he is an incredible rebounder, and that is hugely important for a good defense. Kanter is leading the preseason in rebounds/game with only 20/21 minutes/game. He's averaging 28 rebounds/48 nearly double what Anthony Davis is averaging. I know it's only preseason, but this is what he should be doing.

Thanks for the link. I will rep when I haven't given too much out.

By the way, Foye, "the shooting specialist", is 1/17 = 5.7/36 min. (2.7/17) in the preseason as per Locke. Burks on the other hand is 7/14 = 16.4/36 min. (6.7/14.7). Foye seems to be replacing C.J., and Burks needs minutes.

This to me is the most concerning thing about the team right now. It trumps Hayward and his playing, Favors and his lack of offensive improvement and how the Jazz keep running their offense through Jefferson. Burks needs more playing time.

Burks is the only guy on the team with his skills. I'm fine with him being the 6th guy, but he needs a min of 23 minutes a game. And, he should be drilling the **** out PnR in practice.
