Preseason game #4 Portland @ Utah Jazz

I agree that Kanter is not in game shape but some points are not about being in the game shape. If a guard penetrating after the high screen, he's generally showing up too far away of the rim to cover rolling man or he's reacting too slow to make the help defense after rotation. These make Favors become in early foul trouble or easy buckets for the opponents. Also, his defensive rebounding has been a problem after he lost some pounds. He gained some athletism, quickness and all but making tough for him to box out heavy 7 footers.

Kanter isn't anywhere close to in game shape yet. His focus/strength are sorely lacking. Started strong on O, but had a tough time keeping Lopez off the boards/block. Lost focus toward the end of the first and started forcing his shot, which continued for the rest of the game. Hopefully he can settle down and let the game come to him for the full 48 in the coming weeks.

Makes sense because he's only played the last month in six. And he is still really young with the least amount of minutes.

Amazing clutch Hayward to Favors moment. I think we'll see a decent amount of these dunks this year. I'm grateful Hayward is not a chucker point-forward. Kanter needs to see the court and think where his teammates are, which route they are cutting etc. when he gets the ball high post. His far mid-ranges are not as good as 15-16 footers. No rush. Ball movement.
