Burks wasn't wide open and he had an awful passing angle from Exum.

He probably should have seen Hayward though.
 
So Hayward and Favors only play 12 mins and Burke sits out: Jazz win 1st half by 16 points.
Almost all subs the rest of the way with the exception of Kanter and Burks; Lakers come back and win by 7. Sounds like Quin was getting the rookies and bench players a little experience, maybe evaluating some he may consider cutting or keeping, giving rotation minutes to, etc. Isn't that what preseason is for? I see absolutely zero cause for concern. Give Hayward and Favors starter minutes in the 2nd half and the Jazz easily win this game. Play Burke and Booker and the rout is on!

This has nothing to do with going rogue. There were 3 seconds on the clock, the play had already been broken. When people say Burks goes rogue they mean that he takes the ball with 18 on the clock and abandons every play they've practiced all week and just does what he wants to do(drive to the rim). To be fair, maybe passing to Hayward was a better decision in this specific instance, but not by a big margin. If he trusts his floater, this is not a bad play at all...

Like I said, small sample size and Burks can learn how to play within the offense more, but right now, it has looked better with Hood.

Way too small a sample size. Besides, this was Burks' first game back and we were without Burke.

I don't think we've seen the "starters" yet. Kanter doesn't look like the guy. It should probably be Burke/Burks/Hayward/Booker/Favors.

Is it possible that quin plans plays that the jazz practice all week to have Burks get a screen with 18 seconds on the clock and drive to the rim? How do we know he is going rogue? Has snyder said that? Has Burks minutes been cut when he has been healthy (I think he has averaged more minutes than anyone in the games he has been available for)? Have we seen Burks getting chewed out?

You can tell when something is part of the offense or it isn't by how the play is setup. It's not that hard to tell when there is a breakdown and a player is just winging it. Let's not act like Burks doesn't break the offense more than anyone.

Maybe snyder approves of it then. I have seen no consequences so far.

Maybe snyder is not going to hold players accountable I guess

btw I saw Hayward go one on one numerous times tonight that didn't appear to be the play that was called

Yes, Burks is not the only player who breaks the offense, he is just the one who does it most often.

Nope not really. I'm just saying that there COULD BE other things happening. Basically we don't know everything about what goes on in the game. We are not in timeouts, practices, meetings, etc.

Maybe kanter got a lot of minutes because of his offense. I don't know
