Agreed. If Kanter isn't the long-term answer at the 4 position, then they should go after Millsap. His age is a (small) issue, but he'd be a great fit with the rest of the lineup, he's already familiar with Utah AND he walks in the door with a great working relationship with the head coach.

It's not all that small...

6'6'' SG is about 1 inch taller than average for SG in the league
6'8'' SF is about 1 inch taller than average for SF in the league
6'8" PF is about average for a PF in the league
6'10" C is about average for a C in the league

So only Trey would be shorter than average for his position. The problem is that Hood will probably be massively overpowered by most SFs. He needs strength. Same goes for Hayward. Even if he's added some weight, I don't know if he can handle a lot of the heavy PFs in the league. I don't think that line up is the best utilization of our players, but purely height-wise they'd be alright. Strength-wise that's another story...

Different scenario. If Kanter plays well, then he's easily a valuable trading chip since the team that trades for him can extend him or match his offer sheet. Plus he's still young, and more likely to continue to improve. Al or Millsap would have been half a year rentals, and much closer to the end of their careers than the beginning. The big issue IMO is that Lanter hasn't shown enough as a player to merit being traded and bringing back adequate value. He might yet, but he needs to start and play well to do that. If they can't get fair value for him, then they're better off letting him go set his value on the market and either sign and trade him or bank on his potential if the deal is palatable.

Considering both of their injury issues, I'd rather see the Jazz aggressively go after a guy in the draft. I think that's far better value than what they'd have to pay for either Ilyasova or Anderson.

Only few people watched the game @OKC, I was one of them. He played probably his best offensive game in the Jazz uniform. Not only 27 points in 29 minutes but solid decision making overall, 0 turnovers, 3 assists and 2/2 threes.

As for defense.. OKC could not find a way to score against the Jazz defense, Hayward and Favors were playing well defensively, and then OKC decided to go to the guy Kanter was defending. Threes, mid-range jumpers, post ups, catch and shoots... I lost count of how many points they scored on Kanter, probably 25+. Yes. I'm shocked by his atrocious defense because he looked like he had made real progress in his sophomore year and now it's like he has forgotten everything he learned back then. He can defend better? Probably. He is still 22. A Euro big who needs minutes to grow up. Guy is still a mystery. Coach Q will need to give him minutes and stand behind him when he fails, try hard to get the best out of him so we'll have a better idea.

Karl Malone thinks Enes Kanter can be our stretch big of the future. You just need to be patient. Karl Malone remembers when Karl Malone started in the league and all Karl Malone could do is play transition ball and band down low. Later on Karl Malone got pretty good at jumpers. Karl Malone sticks to his liking of Enes Kanter. Also, he wants to wrestle in the WWE like Karl Malone did in the later 90s.

This is quite interesting to hear, as i was reading something earlier where Quin was praising kanters defensive effort. I suppose it could have been all effort and no actual impact, but it would seem strange for him to point it out if he was really getting burnt so bad.
