I don't think that's safe at all. No good can come from talking to a police officer, and much harm can come from it. Since there is very little accountability for the actions of police and since cops support other cops before they support the truth I do not trust them at all. IMO they have proven that it is us vs them.

I do have deep respect for the decent cops out there that actually are concerned with the well being of the people they are charged to protect. It's a tough and often thankless job.

I'll say it again, because it appears that you must've missed it: Stop making stupid blanket statements because of some propaganda laced video/commentary/news article. Your schtick is nauseating -- very Thrilleresque.
 
I have no other way to respond to the idea that someone looks at something titled "protestor gets shot with tear gas canister" and their first reaction is to think "good."

I'm not saying that I agree that peaceful protests should be met with violence, nor that I think that an individual laying on the ground injured should be harmed or not allowed to receive aid. What I am saying is that you have some violent individuals hiding in the midst of many protestors. If they are are hurling deadly objects at the Oakland PD then the Oakland PD is going to try to disperse the group.

Also, have any of the occupiers of the port of Oakland considered the thousands of blue-collar workers in Oakland who rely on the port to feed their family? The workers who are currently out of work waiting for this to get resolved.

This was all well after (about a week or so) the tear gas incident being discussed in this thread. At the time of the tear gas incident being discussed in this thread, there were zero reports of violence/looting/vandalism/etc. I know there have been a couple reports now, but there weren't any when the police initially got violent.

This is not entirely true.

It is true that we don't know the circumstances that put the guy on the ground in the first place. But we can clearly see in the video when the cop lobs a flash grenade right next to the guy while he's laying on the ground (into the crowd of people that were trying to help him).

If you side with cops 99% of the time, this should absolutely be that 1% when you agree they were wrong.

I honestly think it's probably more like nine than 1000s. Police have almost no true accountability (complaints are routinely dismssed, testimony is considered accurate until proven otherwise). That much power corrupts.
