What grade did they give the Lakers fans when they started the city on fire after they won the championship? A? A-?
miles did seem to grow up a bit last year, but yeah, i expect hayward would become a starter at the 3 and be more effective there. Especially defensively. I'm warming up to jeremy evans too; sounds like the 2nd coming of dennis rodman as far as bb skills go; could become our defensive stopper...
No, I wouldn't have. Aldrich won't take us to the promised land, but he'd be a pretty good 20 min/per player - on a team that has NO centers right now, outside of one trying to come back from a horrible injury and one who is not only a RFA, but can;t play more than 15 mins without hacking up a lung or getting into foul trouble (or both). Oh yeah, and then there's Koufos. If the Jazz had picked Aldrich, the bitching and whining here would, at best, only been marginally less.
Personally, I would have picked Henry, as I think he could have become the starting 2 and potential break out star, but I do not think there was a big left who was good enough who would have satisfied the Jazz's need. I like Patterson, but he duplicates what we have in Millsap. I'm not sure Aldrich wouldn't have been a good choice. All in all, I'd prefer selecting a good player who can contribute than a project or marginal big man who's upside in Pryzbilla (and adequate player but hardly the type to take the Jazz to the promised land).
Plus we're going after Marc Gasol next summer.
Book it.
With what money???
Not Larry H's inheritance... no sir... Greggie boy would rather build a racetrack or buy a 14th century yacht, or whatever he is doing with the millions of dollars Larry left him, because he is sure as hell not improving this team. They aren't even an investment for him... they are a death wish of Larry's that he has to maintane.
Hurry up and sell the team to Vegas so some owner can give a damn like the fans do.
You can take Doufus of your list there Killa. No way we sign him to another contract after this year when his deal comes up.
I could see it...We trade Booze for Favors, thus saving about 8M.
We lose AK next offseason and sign Gasol to about 11M per, thus saving another 6M.
Okur will also be going into his last year.
It's all goooood.
Williams-Price-2011 1st round pick
Matthews-Jeffers-2011 2nd round pick
Miles-Hayward
Millsap-Favors
Gasol-Okur-Fes-Koufos
Um, since LHM died, Utah spent more than usual, going over the cap.I could see it...
but I am honestly concerned with our teams ownership... it pains me that it seems our team has become victim of the dollar since LHM died.
Boozer might be a top 5 PF (more like a top 10 PF) offensively, but he's a top 25 to 30 PF defensively. Average: top 15 to 20.I realize its a recession, and car sales are down... but we're giving away talent... and it hasn't been important before, but now we're probably going to let a top 5 PF walk for nothing, and the best percentage 3point shooter ever (well last season) is likely to walk as well. Who knows what will happen to Matthews and Fes...
lol @ the posters who still think we're getting Favors.
You gotta admit, that's a pretty sick team. A Millsap, Favors, Gasol frontline could kick major ***. We'd have a dominant point guard. Wes and CJ are solid defenders imo, can both shoot and are maturing. And Hayward has a lot of offensive creativity rarely found. Book this ****ing team. Get 'er done.
