Question about LDS Church after Smith's death.

Whether or not I personally am offended (I'm not), PKM should understand that saying "Mormons believe X but Christians believe Y" is indeed offensive language, and there will be those who DO get offended by it.

But... you do believe different stuff than other Christians. A Baptist and a Mormon are different because they believe different stuff. If you didn't believe different stuff than other Christian groups than why identify as Mormon at all? What's the difference between a Catholic and a Lutheran if not their beliefs? Mormons believe in the Book of Mormon other Christians don't. I don't see what is so controversial.
Pkm seemed to have Mormons backs in his post. I think you are unfairly misinterpreting him.

There's a difference between saying "Mormons believe X and many other Christians believe Y", and saying "Mormons believe X and Christians believe Y." I have no problem at all with the first. The second, whether or not it's intended, is excluding Mormons from being Christians.

this thread has suddenly gone fast paste.

(That was an actual - serious- post make on a UK message board, ugh)

I get it, but that's not what he meant. He just worded it awkwardly.

(Apologies if I'm misinterpreting things here, but I'm writing this reply based on the assumption that you are saying Mormons aren't Christians due to views on grace vs. works.)

So Catholics aren't Christians, then?

How about Jesus? Was he Christian? Where in the Bible did he *ever* talk about grace as being more important than works? A major point of the parable of the sheep and the goat was to teach that people will be rewarded based on their actions.

For the most part, I disagree with Catholicism. There's too much that's work based and praying to people who aren't God, it's just....there's a good reason Luther and Tyndale had their issues with the Catholic Church.

Was Jesus a Christian? No. Christian means Christ Follower, Jesus did not follow Himself, He is God.

Anyways, according to Timothy, all scripture is God breathed. Paul wrote in the Bible that we are saved by grace alone. Now I know you're a smart guy Colton, if all scripture is God breathed, and Jesus is God, then clearly Jesus did say that we are saved by grace alone!
