Quin could decide to end 8 year tenure with Jazz according to Woj and MacMahon

Interesting interview with Tony Jones on Bill Riley's show today.

-Said that the extension the Jazz offered him is significant in terms of money.
- Quin wants some clarity in terms of how much say he would have in roster construction and decision making.
-Quin was hurt by the fact that he didn't have 100% buy-in from his roster this season, this is the first time this has happened since he's been with the Jazz. Tony says that it wasn't his fault that he didn't have complete buy-in from the roster.
-Fans have no idea how much was going on behind the scenes with this team last year and that may make Quin reluctant to come back.
-Internally the Jazz really have no idea how this is going to play out and it's just a waiting game at this point until Quin makes his decision.

If I am a borderline playoff team, I would give up a first round pick or early 2nd to get him to coach my team. I think he can get a team out of the gutter.

Speculation on what "...buy-in from his roster...." means? Rudy Gay, obviously. Who else?

Whiteside is another guy that I don't think was completely bought-in at all times. Also, Locke has talked recently about how the team just didn't play the way Quin wanted them to this year...they were selfish offensively and didn't move the ball and run the offense like they did in previous seasons.

Whiteside did his job. He's not really responsible for moving the ball or running.

I think it's more along the lines of Rudy Gay/Jordan Clarkson and probably the whole Donovan/Rudy beefing.

I dont think Quin hates Mitchell or anything, but I bet he is tired of dealing with Mitchell's camp and how much behind the scenes rumors they put out.

May be hard for Quin to have much input with Ainge now running the show

At the end of the day who is responsible for moving the ball and who takes the most "selfish" shots? It's Clarkson and Donovan. Any kind of comment about the ball not moving, it starts with those two. There isnt much reading between the lines necessary.

Also, I'm sure he was pissed about the Gay signing. Gay has been known as a ball-stopper his whole career. HE absolutely never fit the team, and anyone who watched the Jazz and Gay would know that.

It seems like Quin is way too much of a "players coach" and the FO has become too much of a "players franchise" and now we are dealing with the fallout of having a non-top 20 player run the franchise when his entire camp wants him on a different team. LMFAO
