I'm happy for Quin and happy for the team. This deal makes so much sense. Extending him early give Snyder the confidence to continue to coach and develop the way he has been. A coach with 1 year left on his deal may start to coach for his next job....that's what Corbin did, he started the vets because he needed more wins to add to his resume, and by doing so he hurt the development of the team.
This allows Synder to not feel tempted to take any short cuts with the team and 'baking the cake'.
I wouldn't have extended him. The jazz had him on a team option for 2 more years already. I don't think he's earned a new contract. His first year was great
Last year was very mediocre. Many of the Jazz's players didn't improve at all in fact I'd say Gobert, Booker, Burks, Burke, Favors, ingles, Johnson, may have actually regreased.
At least he's not Tyrone.

Utah is one of the best jobs in the NBA. If you're a coach who is willing to follow management's plan and work your *** off you will keep your job. That's not true with most NBA teams.Oh God, they fired Dave Joerger.
they
PLS PLS bring him in as an assistant coach.
I think the Jazz lose here. Especially since one of Jazz' favourite sons is available and interviewing for other teams. Playoff teams, too.

Alec got himself hurt again. That's why I say he regressed. The Jazz were 19-10 with that same roster minus Exum. The Jazz added Mack and Lyles to the roster this year. So the loss of Exum isn't that big of a difference. So yes the Jazz regressed. Favors and Gobert both played down a gear this year. All those guys regressed and yet the Jazz got 2 more wins this season despite losing Exum for the whole year and Burks for most of the year (though he's one of the guys you think regressed)? Ok.
