What's new

Quin Snyder is the new coach

nice resume of snyder

now compare his resume with the resumes of other 29 coaches, i bet he will end up in the bottom 10 as a candidate (if that's your arguments)

i personally don't want to prove here something or to somebody, i just have my vision and usually i'm not mistaken :)

Sure. I'll bet you had the Van Gundys, Messina and Hollins at the top of your list. Who's to say the Jazz didn't contact every one of those guys and there was simply no interest? Many great coaches have come through the same type of lineage as Snyder - i.e. successful at college and/or D-League and then very well-regarded assistants. Budenholzer and Joerger fit that description. You probably would have been against the hiring of Popovich by SA. He had experience as a HC at mighty Pomona-Pitzer and then a couple of jobs as an assistant before leaving coaching briefly to be the Spurs GM, then naming himself the head coach.

i was one of the first against corbin (when a lot of dudes here claimed that he needs time etc)

and i was first that wrote the name "david blatt" on this board

but hey, nice try ) anyway, i trust my vision no matter what

What we do know is he is an out of the box hire for the Jazz...

I agree. The idea that we hired someone who has no connection to the jazz is huge. Especially for a franchise that has been so conservative in its approach to coaches.

I just want to point out if you proclaim any player or any coach will fail guess what, you'll be right way more often then you'll be wrong.

Every other coach in the NBA besides Quin Snyder will fail. The rebuild is on full steam ahead. It'll be fun to see where they are three years from now.

Nice find Cy.
Easy to see the Lindsey connections...

"Wells’ NBA career began in 1995 with the eventual NBA Champion Houston Rockets (1995-2004) where he worked his way up from assistant video coordinator to assistant coach. From there, he went on to fill the same position with the Los Angeles Lakers (2004-05) under Rudy Tomjanovich before spending four seasons with the San Antonio Spurs (2005-09) that featured the 2007 NBA Championship title. He wrapped up his time in the NBA with the Washington Wizards (2009-11)."

Wonder what his role will be? Hoping he's a developmental coach and the Jazz are still pursuing Chip Engelland.

I met Snyder briefly recently. Nice guy. But I didnt sense a commanding presence from him. For one he is simply too short for the job. Hope the guy proves me wrong.

I cuaght the John Stockton interview on today's Dan Patrick show and was surprisingly blown away. Smart of course but much calmer and more articulate than I ever expected. Me thinks we missed the boat, if of course he did want the job.
