So many of us want to hear these words ...I really want it started on the defensive end.Playing aggressive man to man defense.Using Rubio,Exum ,Mitchell like hound dogs at the top of the key ,knowing the best defensive duel is behind them in DFav and Gobert.
I think Jazz can create lots of turnovers with their length and quickness and athleticism on the perimeter.
Jazz can create havoc on offenses with their defense before teams have a chance to bomb away on them. Love to see the Jazz crash the offensive boards as well.I think the Jazz can make teams pay for trying to sneak out for fastbreaks with lots of offensive putbacks .
It's a change in how they played last year but you have to play to your strength.

Offensively ,Rubio will get these guys running with great passing if the Jazz run up the court.Exum(PG) on the 2nd unit with Mitchell and Burks running beside him would be a continuation of Rubio and 1st unit.

This could be fun times watching this style of play.

Maybe it'll be like the Suns that first year they got Nash and they just ran everyone tf out of the gym

So much attn to where the points are going to come from, very valid too.Since Jazz can't just go out and grab who they want, the scoring is going to have to come from within the players they have now.But this isn't necessarily bad if Jazz have a healthy Favors,Burks,Hood and fully recovered Exum ready to contribute.None have hit their prime years. There's no sense in sitting back and let teams fire away on them, unleash them.I think all the Jazz players have giant chips on their shoulders and that can be used to good advantage.

    According to what or whom?

I still say we are bottom 3 in slowest pace in the league.

According to Quin. Did you listen to the interview? He did backtrack a little though, saying we have to play to our strength which is defense, but he did emphasize attacking the basket and not setting up when on a limited break situation.

That team played zero defense. It was a Mike D'Antoni system where Amare would dunk, other guys would drill 3s and Steve Nash would do whatever he wanted. It was an unstoppable offense.

I like the idea of Dante and Donovan running out with someone like Jerebko or Sefalosha filling the lanes and Rudy then showing up to clean up.

Pretty sure he said something similar last year! Wanted the pace to increase, but obviously that didn't happen, at all.

No doubt they played no defense.

Seems like this Jazz team is built to defend tf out of teams. I was thinking more in terms of: the Suns had a very radical shift in terms of their pace of play, and the Jazz seem poised to make a shift such as that, since they had the slowest pace last year. And since Coach Q talking about attack attack attack makes me think that maybe they're going to go for it.

David Locke talked quite a bit about how the slower pace was for Hayward,,,,,though it could be said the same for Diaw ,Mack and Johnson as well and that he carried the biggest load overall in basketball in terms of responsibility.
I hated Hayward walking the ball up every time he had the ball and brought it up the court. Now Jazz don't have to play to Haywards pace anymore.

But that was because of Hill's style of play, and Dante wasn't allowed to do that, and then you have Sheldon who can't. Rubio, however, will run, and Dante will probably be given a looser leash.

Locke just tweeted this: " Donovan Mitchell said it was clear Quin Snyder wanted fast paced basketball"

    Hopefully, to an extent.

The Jazz just don't that have that elite shot maker in transition. Like when OKC gives the ball to Westbrook, it can be a 1 on 2 and a shot is still going up. The Jazz ran last year, they just backed out too.

Different year,4 of the main slowdown guys are gone (Hayward,Hill,Diaw,Mack) and replacing their minutes will be Exum,Mitchell,Burks and Sefalosha.I think this will be a big difference.

I'm really excited about Dante's 0.6 steals per 36 minutes.

You have a point, lol, but that doesn't mean Exum can't/won't be effective. Can he force his man off his spot, challenge shots and perhaps reduce the shots per game his man normally takes? That will be where he has a defensive impact.

Is that the 21 yr old Dante playing on a team whose emphasis was to run back on defense and then funnel offensive players to Gobert ? There wasn't much full court pressure or because of being on a short leash room to gamble on defense.Anytime Exum tryed to free lance alittle it was end of the bench for him.
