From Clipperholics - I’m talking 119.7 points per possession good in non-garbage time minutes. That mark is six points higher than the second team in the league. The high scoring is understandable given that they are effectively shooting 59.6% from the field and are third in free throw rate, attempting 27.9 per 100 possessions. That is the unstoppable force.
The immovable object? Utah’s defense. They are allowing just 93.7 points per possession in non-garbage time minutes, which is first in the league. They are allowing the fourth-lowest effective field goal percentage in the league (46.2%) and are generating turnovers on 16.7% of their opponent’s possessions. With Rudy Gobert anchoring their defense, it makes complete sense. What happens when these two units face each other? We’ll find out.
Jazz have looked great on defense as usual, but haven’t looked good offensively at all. Donavan Mitchell is balling right now tho.
I do worry about Gobert vs Harrell. I really wish Doc would change this help and recover defensive philosophy. I remember this killing us in the Blake era.
There is a whole lot of helping and not a lot of recovering. Leaving wayyy to many open shooters every game.
Just a theory but I feel like the game is played at a way higher pace than in the years back when Doc first started running this defense. Probably back in Boston days.
Shamet not working for us in offense or defense. Try Mann!!
If the Clippers win, I will be pleased. If the Jazz win, I will be sad.

seems wildly overrated to me. Lot of people overvaluing Conley who has been atrocious. (I say this and he’ll probably go off tonight).

The starting unit it a horrible mix even with Kawhi. Shamet won’t shoot, Patterson can’t shoot, Beverly not aggressive scoring and Zubac plays the least amount of minutes to provide true value

Conley looks SOOOO bad in this offense. I know he'll figure it out, he's great. But holy cow he looks bad right now.

another horrendous display of preparation and line-up decisions- Leonard needs a break after 4 games?? Long season - we need a younger coach who finds chemistry BEFORE the season...

We need to be better than this without Kawhi and PG. Not good enough Doc and the team. We are lacking the hardness we had last year. Take a good look in the mirror lads.

Our problem is....that when they execute their PnR, our center commits to help because our defense sucks **** when Jazz guards drive in....leaves Gobert wide open to just score
I guess they really are calling travelling this year smh
Conley's not going to duplicate tonight's performance on Sunday, that's for damn sure
and you can take that to the bank
Our defense is horrible. I am not convinced Kawhi and PG fixes that.
Watching this game makes me wish I was muerto
I realize that Conley and Utah just caught fire
but the Clips defense has been terrible too – they’re like 2-3 steps slow (at best) in closing out on shooters
I don't think anyone was expecting to win tonight
but this is just embarrassing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen these dudes coast like this. Doc might as well just send in the rooks and Motley – not like they’re gonna bring any less intensity.
