Now that the dust has settled I only have one real concern with him. There is A LOT to like, and be positive about but there is one MAJOR MAJOR problem we can't ignore. His skill set, and strengths don't match up very well with most of our roster. It's the Donald Trump in the room, it stinks, and we must address it.
The problem is his consistent ability to hit shots, and finish at the rim. Teams sag off him, and it messes up the pick and roll. I agree there were positive signs with him in the 2nd half of last year.
We'll need for that to continue if we are really going to succeed with Rubio. I'd love to see us run the ball more because, according to Twolves fans, this is one elite skill. Transition offense. He really isn't that great in pick n roll half court.
Can we run a little more with the likes of Rubio, (hopefully Hayward), Mitchell, and Bolomboy? It seems like too much of our roster is slow and or (plays)old, Joe Johnson, Ingles, Favors, etc. We aren't a run and gun up and down the floor type of team.
In a way it seems like if Hayward left this would be a chance to change the feel and play of our team.
