R.I.P. 2014 Tank

Have only read half of the stuff here before I couldn't read any further bursting in laughter.
Some Jazzfanz are more cranky than 14 yr old girls on their period.

The Jazz played great against Houston and Burke has brought something good to this team. But the West is a tough conference to win in. We're still probably a bottom 6-7 team at best. Who knows, another injury or two and we're right back in the bottom three. Plus there's always the off chance we win the lottery to move into the top 3.

Don't forget that all the East bottom feeders have to play each other 3-4 times, so they'll have to get wins against one another.

That just means we're good mayne

Trey Burke! The ****ing truth!

Not really a good thing unless any three of Hayward, Favors, Burks, Kanter, or Gorbert is the truth as well. You guys still need another main piece. Getting too good too soon is much more likely to lead to mediocrity than titles. A lesson my Pelicans(god I hate that name) are more than likely to experience in the next 3 to 4 years.

How I look at it is that they need wins right now and Corbin needs wins to continue coaching. It's like with the Sixers at the beginning. You could see none took them seriously until they won 3 in a row. Then teams started catching up with scouting reports and now they lose all the time while their core pieces still look pretty. Give Burke 3 good games and teams won't go under screens any longer and stuff.
The thing that was supposed to make Jazz competitive still isn't where it's supposed to be(Defense). Right now they can win if opposite teams either don't respect them, are tired + abuse the high altitude advantage or they have off nights with the Jazz having nights where they'd hit blindfolded(like last night)
I think it's great they got that confidence boost that will keep them motivated to work and improve. Only bummer is that Enes seems to drop out of the rotation since Marvin is back. You should give Enes maximum playing time imo. Either he'll respond with nice development or he'll help you lose games. Maybe even both. If Corbin refuses to let Enes play you need a new tank commander.
The Jazz will get more ankle sprains and stuff down the road and if the winning number getts to close to 10 until newyear or 15 at the all star break, expect a very conservative approach to every injury and some variation in playing time.

Bucks next 5( they gunna win 2)
celtics
pistons
wizards
nets
bulls

Jazz next 5(we gunna win one)
Pacers
blazers
kings
blazers
Kings

Bucks schedule may result in 0 to 5 wins. That's basically lottery when they're facing these teams.

DL please save us and renew the tank. Not excited to be in the middle for another decade!

None of us know the future. It's far from a certainty that the Jazz will be a middle of the road team for years. This is just a notion pushed forward by a bunch that live in dread and fear ( not a comfortable place). The pro tank crowd would like us to agree that losing all but 10 games a year will save the future. Well it wont. That little trick could consign the Jazz to the BOTTOM for many years. As i have said before there is no tank as long as the players want to win. We fans can go around with our silly notions and not affect anything.

Doug McDermott to put the Jazz over the top!

LazyD, Why would you say that? Looks to me he is a Hayward clone. Can't possibly use another, though nothing against the Hayward we have. He seems to have the same skill set. Should we choose another small point guard who can pass the ball and shoot the three? Another power forward who might play good defense and add a little scoring?

Take heart tank fans. There is now enough game film on Burke for coaches to game plan for him. With Ty's help they will find a way to put the ball in Hayward's hands. Trey, Gordon & favors can't play 35+ every night. And burks shots won't always fall. Add a couple of players with attitude as they sit longer and longer, potential injuries, and the ultimate trump card...Dennis, the Sith Lord, Lindsey and every thing will be fine.

On the other hand wouldn't it be ironic if a team built to fail made the eighth seed when last years team that was built to get the eight seed failed. Life as a jazz fan.

And if the Jazz fall out of the top 6 or maybe 7, where are they going to get one? The Jazz haven't had a legit no. 1 option since Deron in '10 (and he has always needed Boozer and Sloan). They aren't easy to come by.

I don't want to make these arguments.

The Jazz have a bunch of 20 year olds + the worst bench in the NBA. I wouldn't worry about winning too many games. Regardless, what we want has no bearing on where the Jazz will end up. I'm just pointing out that crying over Jabari is pointless since nobody expected us to be bad enough to get him to begin with.

And who is the absolute best young player you can trade our pick for? :)

Actually I think the jazz were predicted to finish second to last before the sesson began.

Also I remember last week espn had the jazz picking first and landing wiggins

drink more beer

maybe smoke a blunt

get some sleep

jerk a little

I guess what I'm tryin to say is relax go to it let your body go

What do you mean by that? Don't go 'till the end? Decrease the number of times you do it? UGLI's is tiny?

I was trying to be optimistic

To me being optimistic means Bucks win 5!
Maybe their injured guys bounce back a little and refind their shape and they win 3. That's realistic optimism. And when you say 1 it sounds to me like: Things continue to get south in Milwaukee.

They aren't going to win 5
I said 2 wins for the bucks(5-16) and 1 win for the jazz(5-19)

The East is so bad that bottom feeders are guaranteed to pick up easy wins. Every West win for the jazz will require perfect alignment. Tank on!

I'm not sure having your PG as your no.1 option is effective for a contending team. Can you think of any such examples? Maybe a big PG like Magic or Westbrook, but someone with Burke's size and skill set?

Thomas on the Pistons in the 90s?
