2024 NYK 1st
2023 NYK 1st

Cam Reddish
Miles Mcribe
Jericho Sims
Trevor Keels

I think I would value that pick higher than those players too. Think of it like this - yes, this is incredibly low probability event. BUT IF IT HITS!!! It's incredibly high value! Lets say Giannis and Middleton get injured and MKE finish with the 6th worst record or something of the sort. That's almost 40% chance that pick is yours. To me that is probably better value than any of those players... and even the Jazz 2nd round pick.
I guess I kind of get it, but I'd rather just have the players. Maybe I would rank it above Keels/Sims/McBride, but certainly not Grimes.

Not Grimes. Maybe not Keels. He was just picked and is 18 from a top notch program. I’d like to see what his upside is tbh.

I’d love the Milwaukee pick as a throw in, just for the fun and excitement of holding a lottery ticket. . . but not over getting a real, tangible asset.

I just don’t understand how you can say any one of those single picks is more valuable than Barrett.

I can be convinced about some of them. But just in general, it seems like I value NYK's young players much lower than people here.

Nothing. You get it or you dont. New Orleans takes the pick if it falls between 5-30.

I’m fairly certain you’re wrong on this. It’s only protected 1-4. The Pelicans traded it to Portland who traded it to Detroit for Jerami Grant who traded it to the Knicks.

If it lands 1-4 it goes to Milwaukee if not the Knicks get it.

I do think the picks are being overrated here. Making a long term bet against the Knicks isn't bad, obviously, but I think the chances of a pick 7 years from now being amazing is lower than people want to believe. It's also 7 years from now lol.

IDK, I'm not the best at this stuff, but this is what RealGM says:

Milwaukee's 2025 1st round pick to New Orleans protected for selections 5-30 or to New York protected for selections 1-4 (Milwaukee's obligation to New Orleans or New York will thereafter be extinguished) (via New Orleans to Portland to Detroit to New York) [Denver-Milwaukee-New Orleans-Oklahoma City, 11/23/2020; New Orleans-Portland, 2/8/2022; Detroit-Portland, 7/6/2022; Detroit-New York, 7/6/2022]

That sounds like NYK only gets it if it's 1-4 to me.

That **** makes no sense and is not correct.

Portland got New Orleans 1st in 2022 if it landed within 5-14 in the McCollum deal. It did not and it conveyed to Milwaukee’s 2025 1st 1-4 protected.

They then traded that pick to Detroit for Jerami Grant who then traded it to the Knicks.

Why would Detroit trade Jerami Grant for a pick that would only convey if it landed 1-4 in 2025. That’s just not correct information.

The MIL pick in 2025 goes like this:

1-4 to NOP; 5-30 to NYK (via NOP to POR to DET)

So the Knicks have it as a tradable piece as it's likely MIL finishes between 5 and 30. Pels get it only through a hail mary which in turn means the Knicks get absolutely nothing.

Just assume it's probably going to be in the 20's.
