Iggy Azalea is way better than Burks
I'm excited to see the zero point guard lineup.
Hopefully Snyder experiments with that lineup in pre-season
I do, too, but it's largely theoretical at this point. Until the team demonstrates improvement ON THE COURT, then I'll continue to have my doubts. Right now, I'd say the assists might go up, but that might not be the result of the play on the wings. And since that's the point of this thread.......
This. Your crazy if you consider taking Burks right now over Iggy. You mean, like, Finals MVP Iggy?
I'm going to welcome a bump at the end of the year when we're all talking about the seasons that Gordon, Rodney and Alec had.
First of all, Gordon outplayed Thompson head-to-head last year, and remember Thompson has Curry to make him seem better than he is. Our other two guys are hungry and coming up, so we'll have to see how they fare this season. Iggy is actually probably the best of the bunch if you go by his performance in the NBA finals, but he has reached his peak.
Gordon outplayed Thompson ? 1 on 1 maybe (when warriors played the jazz) Keep in mind Thompson set an NBA record for 37 points scored in one quarter! !! Curry or not at his side, that's more than incredible. Regardless how he played against the jazz, he was incredible year long. And speaking of IGGY, what are the players you speak of, current competence level? Anything prior to current is irrelevant.
I believe Burks will show a Poise and maturity beyond anything we've seen from him in years past on the court. I believe sitting out most of last year and watching and spending the time in the film room will pay huge dividends for this upcoming season for Burks. Wouldn't be shocked if he was comeback player of the year.
Can Thompson play PF? Gordon hinted in his interview that He might be playing PF in a small lineup. Favors (or Gobert), Hayward, Hood, Ingles and Burks? That would certainly boost the offense for short stretches. It was against Sacramento not the Jazz. I stick by what I say about head-to-head. Gordon is more versatile, can be a point forward, is a better playmaker and better rebounder than Thompson.
