Wynonna and Adams...meh. 4/10
An oldie but goodie.
Can I rate that a 0? OK, how about 0./10. There was no part of that which was actually good. You must be blinded by nostalgia.
Before anyone gets offended by this one, please realize that Ian Dury was crippled by polio at a young age.
always liked Ian Dury and the Blockheads and their quirky sound
but I'm giving this one
5/10 - less melodic than their other stuff
I think I'd prefer to listen to it as part of a mix of his stuff rather than just by itself as a stand-alone tune
from the same era
Not my official reply, but have you heard the Smithsfits?
If you want to compare a Smiths song to anything, you compare it to every other song ever written. In that vein, 9.9/10 - only misses the full 10/10 because it's not an actual video.
But this is pretty good, too:
Not really my cup of tea but appreciate the effort... 6/10 for me.
Let's go acoustic... such a great song and a great gesture by Bieber to his ex gf Selena Gomez... that boi can sang!!! Such a great guy, so sooo talented.
Song starts at about 2 min. mark.
and this is how the thread died.
I can't wait for Bieber to enter his Sebastian Bach era. That song was a solid 3/10.
Disclaimer: May be 50-100% better when intoxicated.
Not bad. I may have to get intoxicated now. 6/10
How about this Nick Cave cover?
the ship song project
aside from the original song being just a wee bit too slow and melancholy sounding for my taste, this version is just too distracting as it transitions between the various artists
here's something that I find both a wee bit upbeat and a wee bit melancholy
Not sure if sarcastic... Bieber for sure can't sing. He sucks.
I hope it's sarcastic lol
The Magic Numbers - "Forever Lost" 7/10
OL is trolling hard as ****. He def has a social experiment or something going on...
Pretty neutral reaction. Neither liked nor disliked.
Cy seems to be having some Bowie-related flashbacks!
Ziggy Starfish - Open Mike Eagle
7.5/10 - - I liked it quite a bit, but I kept waiting for it to break out into some rap version of ziggy stardust
and I liked the Anna Calvi "Desire" a lot - intriguing sound
8/10 from me
here's some background:
It's a sterling example of a style that doesn't really move me. 6/10
Here's a track that's pretty much the antithesis of current pop music:
Bowie - Blackstar
strangely alluring - interesting transitions in the quirky sound with a video that seemed like animated versions of Robert Mapplethorpe's photographic subjects against a background drawn by M.C. Escher
Neko Case - Hold On, Hold On
