What's new

Raul Neto : new spectacular talent

This is what happens whith a weak minded person who wants everything handed to him. If this is Burke then get him out, but as we know Burke has had to work for everything not being highly recruited. He's overcome his fears at every level this is his final test. His fear will either push him to greatness or outer darkness. There can be no other way.

Dude how awesome would that be to have the Darth Vader of Point Guards.

Fear is not an obstacle for Trey. NBA ability is imo. To bring out the best of his ability he needs to feel the most comfortable, some will say coddled. Neto's presence along with the wrong veteran PG (MO), could divide the locker room some from the start. It's in everybody's best interest to have Trey the best player and the best leader he can be. Let him be the guy from day one and let the rest of the youngins rally behind him.

I don't agree with this. Team mates play best with those they bond with. Especially young players.

This is professional basketball. Chemistry does matter, but at the end of the day, they're playing for a paycheck. The better they play, the bigger the paycheck. Even if Kanter does like Neto more because he's a foreigner (hey guess what, Burke is a foreigner to Kanter too), he's going to want the best player to play.

Thank you!

No necessarily. Kanter and the rest of them are playing for their next paycheck. Stats cash in more than wins do. Perhaps Neto is the guy that will get you less wins but will get Kantor or another guy more stats. It is reasonable to assume that all players are not on the same page as far as a winning team goes. It's like any business - there is a small percentage of employees who sabotage what is best for the group in favor of their own personal gain. I think making the Jazz clearly Trey's team is the way to go.

I like Neto's game, but I'm questioning why after trading for Burke, would they also traded for him. Just give the team to Burke and be done with it.

I think this viewpoint is nutters.

Jazz won't do that. You always have to plan for injuries. Burke misses games and then you're running the team with Tinsley, Neto and Burks? Not gonna happen.

This made me laugh. You do realize that last year we ran with Mo Williams, Watson and Tinsley. And when Mo went down we ran with Tinsley, Watson, and Burks.

We weren't prepared for an injury to our starting pg last year. No reason to proclaim that the Jazz won't be dangerously thin at PG once more.

Heck no, Darth Vader was the ultamate draft day bust. Here he is, the most talented Jedi in the entire universe, and instead of using his power to bring about love and unity throughout the empire; he wastes his talents trying to fix his own nightmares, then proceeds to divide the entire empire (locker room) by bullying everyone. In the end, he only redeems himself by knocking off the emperor (getting his coach fired) ((Yes, i guess I just compared Ty to Emperor Palpatine; my bad)) and only realized the puts he's been at the end of his life (career).

NO THANKS

Burks. BURKS! Jeez, I completely forgot that he played the point, dang we have to get the season started. August and September are not going to be good for me. Burks is a solid semi veteran combo guard, as long a Tinsley is on the team to teach the rooks how to pass in the NBA, there is no need to bring back Mo at all. If Mo was the future, than there would have been no need to move up to get a point guard.

Random question: given the choice between Mo and Foye as a combo guard playing mostly at the 2, which would folks prefer? (Not that Mo would sign off on this)

^^I thought you were comparing Darth to Deron, as Williams once was part of the Light, then grew selfish and sullen, tried to take over the Empire by pushing out the Emperor (Sloan). It was only through the swift action of the other Jedi that the rebellious one was exiled to the Dark Side (New Jersey).
