So he'll be demanding a big payday? If he is indeed a 4 primarily then I don't know if I'll be paying too much for him, since Gobert/Favors is such a promising duo going forward.

If he is a 3 then may be look to pair him with Hayward, but is he proven at the 3 spot? Jury's still out right?

I honestly don't know how often Green defends 3's. Barnes too plays some 4 in their small ball lineup so Green may defend 3's often. I'm really not sure. I'd guess that Kerr puts him on whoever he feels is the better offensive player, entrusting Green and his iq and tenacity can do a good job.

He would get beat on the perimeter at SF, physically he's an Anthony Bennett clone but less athletic. With Favors and Gobert in the paint maybe you look past that though and try to make him a SF.

So to even have a chance at Green, we have to a) offer to overpay him by a substantial amount; b) renounce Kanter and our exceptions to get under the cap so he can sign the offer sheet; c) hope GS doesn't match. And then if they do, it's likely Enes has already negotiated a deal to go elsewhere or simply doesn't want to then return to Utah since we showed so much faith in him by not retaining his rights. This has a ZERO chance of happening.

This is my feeling as well. There are just too many unknowns with Green. Can he play SF (doubtful)? What would his shooting numbers look like without the best shooting backcourt of Curry and Thompson drawing all the attention? Jarret Jack's TS% dropped from 54.2% to 49.8% after leaving GS. Jack's PER dropped from 15.9 (starter quality) to 11.5 (scrub) the next year.

That's the only valid point on why we shouldn't try and sign him

But maybe DL could have a private conversation with his agent and see if he would be interested in signing here. Maybe Golden State would hesitate to match a max deal.

I think the Jazz at least have to keep it as an option.

Posts like this reminds of posts that doubted Harden and Bledsoe and whether or not we should have traded for them

He's really good. That's all you need to know. Get your mind off whether or not he is a 3 or 4. His defensive abilities are undeniable. Would you like some more defense on the Jazz? I sure would. You can't win a championship if you can't play defense.

Yeah, not interested in overpaying Green when we have our stud starting power forward at 12 million per.

It's just not a realistic option. We probably have a better chance of winning the lottery from the 12th spot.
