Do those percentages contradict the idea of having players who can shoot in a spurs offense. (Keep in mind that those numbers probably go down without the splash bros)

I don't think so. Let's be honest. Look at Parker's numbers. Ginobili's. They've not exactly shot lights out for their careers. Manu's a career 45/36.9/83.1. Parker's 49.5/32.2/75.3. Green to me would be a great stretch 4. The problem is having Favors at the 5 then. I'm not sure how I feel but most here seem to think Favors is better at the 4 and they may be right.

I love the idea of having Exum-?-Hayward-Green in the starting five. The passing and shooting (Exum has shocked me at his solid spot up shooting) could be sick. Maybe we get Mudiay to round that out.

We would have to grossly overpay to get Green.

Can he get better?

sent from a phone ya bish
His shooting can get a little better, sure.

And what's grossly to you? I think 9.5M per could get it done and to me that's not grossly overpaying in this NBA economy with where it's headed. Especially not for a guy who leads, can rebound, pass, shoot, defend and hustle. Dude pretty much does it all.

Why do you think that 9.5 will get it done, and why the hell would Golden State not match that offer? I think they'd rather offload Iggy or Lee before letting Green leave for that price.

Anything the Jazz can afford to offer, the Warriors can probably match. Otherwise Utah is just overpaying to get him. At that point, I'd rather have control over the financial situation and be able to match whatever Kanter gets offered. The Jazz would run the risk of losing Kanter and failing to get Green as well. Rather not be the Rockets, thanks.

Green is the flavor of the month and highly overrated. Put him on a team without the firepower that Gstate and he won't look good at all.

Why 9.5? Because that's about what I see him getting, though it really may be more like 10-11M I'd guess. Why would they not match? Because as people have said, their LT number could then be really exorbitant next year. It'll all depend on their owner I suppose. And yes, there's a catch-22 with he and Kanter. But to simply re-sign Kanter so we don't lose him sounds like a short-sighted, bad GM move if ever there was one.

In order to sign him I believe we would have to renounce the rights to Kanter to clear his cap hold. We could then sign green to a contract, then G-State matches, Aaaaand, we are screwed. THAT would be a short-sighted, bad GM move if ever there was one.

I was thinking the same thing.

Honestly for me the Burks contract is looking worse and worse.

Never liked that contract. Extensions have not been something that Lindsey has been good at. Seems to be a pretty decent drafter, but I'm not a big fan of his other moves.

Agreed. It feels like a contract that the Jazz might have to find a buyer for and it might cost a first round pick to get rid of it.

Disagree. He a hustle player and he's skilled enough defensively that he could help this team progress.
