You wouldn't last 30 seconds with me, guy. For real though, you wouldnt. One leg and all. Unless you're talking about kicking my *** at poker then I am in trouble, but probably not. I'm coming with vengence.

This. If you haven't read his blog, gtfo.

So if I hadn't read the comments, the fifteen or so people that I talked to that were there, including faculty and friends I've known since I was a kid become irrelevant. I don't get it. I read the comments (not all of them, because frankly I have better things to do) and however sad and unfortunate they may be, many of them aren't any different than people on here trying to stir the pot. People like IJM who pulls countless things out their asses and hopes to God that they might be right, internet tough guys, people who are just looking to to continue the conversation, people who pretend to be someone they're not to gain credibility (hell, you could even accuse me of this right now) but the point is, I'm going to trust the people that I've had first hand experiences with and that I know were there over any comment stream on a blog. What happened to Larz was unfortunate, whether it was perceived as something more than it was or not, the kid finds himself in a messed up situation, but it was his fault that it was escalated the way it was. He reached for attention instead of trying to resolve the problem within the school and it resulted unjustly in multiple people's punishment. McKay deserved to be punished regardless, because he IS a bully, but accusing him of dressing up as a member of the KKK (during what was essentially an all white costume party) and saluting Hitler (during a dance routine) is a pretty far reach. Anyway, back to my original point, telling me to "gtfo" when I have the only sources that aren't from an online blog just because I hadn't read a comment stream (which I had) seems pretty stupid to me.

I agree with most of this. You make some good points.

I have two sisters that go to Alta that have told me things contrary to what you've told me, so I think that kind of messes with my perception as well. Plus, my sisters know McKay and he's in their ward.

Oh, the "gtfo" wasn't supposed to be read in a serious tone. Just me being me.

Stop taking the name of Loki in vain. I am now offended.

What I hope the comments show, non-congruently to what you've heard through people who said they were there, is the stuff that gives credence to the kind of things the kid likely has been exposed to. This is regardless of whether or not the kid is embellishing or not, and to what extant if he is. In fact, in reading the blog post, I caught a lot things that told me his account wasn't accurate to what he typed. Then I looked at some of the comments and could easily see how the kid came to those conclusions and I give his accusations a bit more credibility.

As I said in my first post, the biggest issue here is that kids don't understand the concept that perception does not equal reality, and what one person sees is not what another sees. Kids are stupid. Not necessarily their fault, but they are. I hope the kids can learn from this experience, and not just whine that they were wronged, or that it was just a joke, or that everything was just blown out of proportion. That stuff just doesn't fly in the real world.

You talk real big with Trout behind you, little grizzly.

Do you think you're Anthony Robles or something? One leg is old news. You need to put an arm in a sling and kick my *** if you want to be cool. But I still get one of those tiny bats to make it even.

What does Trout behind me mean?

Also, in that first picture, it's clear to me that guy has at least two legs, guy, but nice try.

Fair enough. What I'm hearing now is that a lot of the school is split and it's making a lot of students uncomfortable, so at this point nothing short of a legitimate investigation is going to uncover the truth, but it seems as though the damage is already done. It's sad to see something like this go down at the school that I grew to love and respect for so long. The only comparable situation I can remember while attending was when a friend of mine committed suicide because of the oppression he received for being homosexual, but he was always adamant that his peers were very accepting, he just felt that he lived in a world where he wouldn't be able to grow up happy without the pressures of society and the disgrace his family felt for his decisions. I can only imagine the mood and tone that's being used at Alta right now. What an unfortunate situation.
