RealGM Free Agent Class 2014. Favors Nro. 2

If he gets the max, it had better be with another team. When you get ready to offer a player a max deal, forget what other teams are doing, but ask yourself, "Is this guy one of the two guys I can pay, that will take me to, and win me a title game?"

If he can't carry you offensively, he isn't a max player. If we hit Feb, Favors is averaging 18 and 9 with 46% fg and he wants a max deal...trade him. That isn't good enough. Those are Jefferson numbers. We don't want to go through that again.

I'd consider maxing 18/9/2.x blocks. 46% isn't good but he is twice the defender Al is and still only 22 years old. Would have to look at advanced stats after the season to say for sure though.

Nothing Favors has shown so far says 18 ppg at 46% is a reasonable expectation for him this season. It will be great if he does, but I'm certainly not expecting it.

Oh and if he does, forget the tank; the Jazz will be the sixth seed in the West.

In order for me to even CONSIDER giving Favors the max, he has to have a year better than AK's the year before he got the max:

17 pts, 8 rebs, 3 blks, 3 assists, 75% FT, 50% fg, 35+ mins a game.

If Favors hasn't done ALL of those things, I don't do a max deal. This is Favors' FOURTH year. The time for potential is past.

Yeah he has had WAY too much playing time to be considered a guy with potential.

Reality is that the meizer millers benched him trying to reduce his value. This is still going to back fire as there is no way we get him for anything less than near max. Now if they had played him the last three years we would know his value and we could come to a fair agreement. As it stands now we are going to HAVE to pay near max for a guy who has only shown potential. The past three years were an absolute waste.

That sounds right about what his numbers will be.

Ill take the over, but just barely.

He'll get the max.

Good. Let some other team chew up their cap space.

Favors has been around three years now. He has ZERO offensive game and can't stay out of foul trouble.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see him doing a 180 on those two areas and suddenly dominating the NBA.

12 million for rebounds, put backs and plantar fasciatis?
I thought the new CBA was supposed to reign in that sort of madness.

Anyways Favors, Kanter, Gobert. Something has to give.

Yeah like the NBA, up a championship.

You know give.

Give up...oh nevermind.

Of course he's gotta prove he's worth before being offered max money but the teams who has got cap space will not hesitate to pay the money for the potential. And he's gonna get more money than Hayward how good Hayward performances. Big men always earn it no matter what happens

I would never pay a max deal for potential...unless he is already scoring 20 pts per night.
