RealGM: Jazz Prioritizing Extension For George Hill Over Derrick Favors

We have to extend Hill over Favors. Hill has brought more excitement and fun to the Jazz than in the past 3+ years for me. I can't see Gordo even considering to stay without extending Hill before the seasons over.

Sad to say, but Burks and Favors are definitely made of glass. We'd be lucky to even see Burks in a jersey again.

I was up late last night, tossing and turning. I was worried about this thread, and about getting all of the right players signed.

But then something happened. I came to a phenomenal realization. And after that, I slept like rotting geriatric. Completely relaxed, care free, and probably disgusting looking. Just happy as a clam, and drooling on my pillow like a snotty, horrific toddler.

My realization? I remembered that my wife had cooked chicken parmesan earlier this week and that there was leftovers in the fridge. I hit that **** like a merchant marine hits the red light district of a port town. Plate, microwave, dirty fork straight out of the sink.

It may have been the greatest moment of my entire life.

I won't be surprised to see some trades going down this season/ths off-season, partially to clear cap room. And the 'Jazz player not available for trade' list is pretty small, IMO.

Exum is getting alot of needed minutes as a result and hopefully making it obvious to Snyder he's ready to assume a bigger role. When Hill gets back, Hill and Exum could set the standard on perimeter defense in the NBA.

This is where I will be extremely critical of Quin if he ****s this up. Exum needs significant minutes to develop his offensive game. Between him and Hill, they need to take most of Mack's minutes and the backup sg minutes.

Thanks for bringing home what's important in life. I would flood you with reps for this epic slice of the life of an internet hero but alas I already repped you recently for I have no idea what.

I haven't read through this threat, but Hill expires this year, and Favors expires in 2 years. Isn't that enough reason for Hill to be prioritized over Favors?

The Jazz have a lower margin for error than many other teams with championship aspirations and should be graded as such..

If they didnt get some **** right they'd be out of jobs, the big question is 'how can things be done better?'..

They'll need to gain tremendous momentum to really break thru..

So until that happens any asset thats been developed here for years and walks without a return is a major blow to the cause. Anyone who says otherwise is an advocate for the status quo.
Jazz F.O. would rather let years of developed talent walk and receive nothing in return, than break the news and say, "you've been traded".
Favors is a great player who the Jazz raised and groomed into the player he is today. It may be time to let go of the big man, but not without a return. If we are to trade, we need to do it now. Not wait until the end and lose him for nothing like we often do.
