RealGM Radio: Galetti on the Utah Jazz

Jesus.

Antoine Carr's nickname was "Big Dog".

This site has really gone to ****.

Agree. Everyone knows THIS guy is the real Junkyard Dog

Maybe that's why it wouldn't be such a bad idea.

There is a difference between attitude and being a nutcase. I want some fire but a fire that can be controlled and directed.

No thanks to Stephenson.

It's time to bring in the different. Nothing wrong with having a bit of eccentricism on the team imo.

There is something wrong with adding one of the worst shooters in the nba to our team though. (One that has taken a playoff team and turned them into one of the worst teams in the league)

No thanks to the crappy attitude or the crappy player

Just looking for answers, I want the Jazz to end up at the same place than you do, so we can go get sick drunk that night.

Listen at 57:26.

- They love Gobert
- Burke and Kanter need to be moved
- Jazz need a 3nD 2 guard
- Trade for Lance or Dion (wtf)

Interesting takes on the Jazz and some meh trade ideas. Enjoy.

These are mostly good ideas.

-They love Gobert - we loved him last year and he didn't get enough playing time. Now he's playing more (would like to see some more P.T.)

-Yes - trade Burke and Kanter - but only if we get players who can play some defense.

-Another SG would be nice. One who plays defense...

-I like Stephenson. He might not even be traded but he plays defense and is intense. It wouldn't work out if we had him and Corbin but Snyder would keep him in check. Also, heck, no to Waiters.

I for one think it's too early to be looking for those answers. Hell we don't even really know what we have yet. We have a group of guys that compete and beat the Spurs but get blown out by lesser teams. That screams that we have a young team with a weak bench. It takes time to build it correctly and this fan base needs to realize that we are not going to be a contender for at least 3 years. I consider this year 1 of the re-build. Last year we still had too many crappy vets playing too many minutes. This is the year we start to sort out who fits with whom and who is a priority player going forward and who is expendable. We get to figure out what pieces go together and what pieces are incompatible.

I'm gonna go ahead and get drunk tonight. Cracking my first beer now

I really wish we could afford a 3 man rotation of Kanter/Gobert/Favors, that would be great. Pretty much impossible though.

We can afford it while gobert is on his rookie contract. After that though, probably not.

Yeah, if Javalee McGee's bitch-*** got 10 per year for being basically the same player Gobert is, but way dumber, then Gobert will definitely get more.

Maybe, maybe not.
In 2 years, the cap is likely going to be where the luxury tax is right now. Juts depends on how greedy Favors and Hayward will be when their contracts come up again. They've already made great money. Will they give some to help the team stay togther?

In any case, I think Favors and Kanter are too similar. Need to keep one to also play minutes at the 5. But the Jazz desperately need a 4 who is quick enough to stay with the stretch-4's many teams have.

After every great game Kanter has, I admit I jump on his bandwagon and think, "wow, he has such great offensive talent. He could be an amazing player (if he just gets better defensively)." And then Favors comes back with a 20/10 game that makes me realize I'm really taking him for granted.
