What's new

Reasons you left the LDS church.

Are you stoned? You're argument that stereotyping all mormons is ok is admitting you were generalizing?

The funny thing is you are doing just what you claim "mormons" do. Inaccurate, condescending and dismissive. Shameful.

Haven't been following the argument but the question, 'are you stoned?' is the same thing you're crying about. Very condescending, dismissive and generalizing question. You're a big fat self-righteous hypocrite.

I don't think I said anything inaccurate or dismissive. It was clear I was making a generalization that doesn't apply to all Mormons. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be admitting to and apologizing for.

Again, my entry into this thread was because of a post that could have been implying that ALL non-religious people are selfish. I qualified that statement, stating that if Jazzspazz were only talking about himself personally, he could ignore what I said.
"Same ol Sunday School ****". Talk your way out of that not being a slam on the church.

When I was in Young Mens, there was always a lot of talk about how unhappy non-Mormons were. How they were yearning deep inside for the truth. That Mormons had some sort of monopoly on true happiness.
When I was in YM (as a YM and as a leader), there was never any of that. Not one time can I recall anything like that. Not saying it never was there but clearly rare if at all.

I also recall several times people making (unsubstantiated..with reference to vague statistics) comments about how just about all Mormons who leave the church do so while still having a testimony of the Book of Mormon, etc., and only leave because they've been offended or want to sin. I've had friends who've more or less told me that I still believe, and will be back some day. It makes it extremely difficult to be friends with anyone I knew when I was Mormon. Oh well.
Interesting, so in your time in the church you guys regular discussed the lameness of being a non-member and also how inactives were messed up and didn't really know their own feelings. And so you've turned this anectdotal evidence into truth for you.

That's one way to go about it I guess.

I was harsh in my conversation with JazzSpazz, but I thought we had worked that out. I certainly don't owe an apology to conan or log (I'd have to be a much bigger @#!*% bag to feel any need to apologize to them).
Ego much?

No it's not. It's just semantics. He could just as easily have said "Are you stupid?" or "You are incorrect" or "You're a ****ing moron".

Some of you ladies are just looking for a reason to be offended. Grow a pair already.

Hook, line and sinker.

Not an ego issue. You're both *** holes.
Ya know I'd say you were on tilt here or going postal but l'm starting to think that's just your regular state of mind.

Every now and then I'm sure you post something without being in a complete rage and I'll be there first saying "GVC going on calm, Folks!".

As opposed to you and log who are carrying on with this BS because you're not offended...
LOL at me ever being offended by anything you ever said. I think you are second only to that pusswad jazzfanz12yearsold as far as thinking you know what everyone is thinking.

Certainly there is a portion of the church membership that regularly speaks ill of non-members. This is frequently the same group of people that speaks ill of other members. They seem to have little good to say generally. As I have mentioned, this vexes me greatly.

Of course, in my experience, a handful of these exist in almost any group of people.
