If we play defense, some good things.
Hayward is our max player but took the least amount of shots compared to the the rest of the starters. That is a worrying sign.
Is it a system thing that is stopping Burke from accelerating into open space to attempt to blow by a single defender (and attempt to break down the defence) instead of almost always going to a complete stop at the top of the 3 point line.

This will be really interesting to monitor given his contract situation. Perhaps they'll want 'showcase' him if they want to trade? I still think Kanter can make defensive improvements because his biggest errors are mental ones. He'll learn. But I think starting Booker with Favors and perhaps even Favors and Gobert could be better for sure in the immediate future against many teams. Gobert is still obscenely raw on both ends as well, so we'd see plenty of WTF moments with Rudy just as we do with Kanter. So it goes with such a young squad...

That's an interesting stat. I don't think this team is as bad as the score showed tonight. I actually really like the roster. The main weak link appears to be Kanter. Unfortunately, I don't see us resigning him. He seems to be best suited as a backup PF scorer off the bench.

I like Kanter better than I did yesterday. I think he can have a role, but it will need to be created for him.
No one is excited to trade for a player who has been erratic in his play (and always bad at defense) just because he has a hot 4th year. You really want to be the team who has to decide if Kanter have a good contract year is fools gold or not? No team is. He has little to no trade value, almost no matter what. At best he is a throw in for a trade or someone traded as a potential expiring contract.
I think he needs to play with a big that overshadow a bit his defensive shortcomings and he focus on scoring...that's why I wrote he should play with Gobert. It seems that focusing on his defense he lost his offense too.

Well then good we keep him as a bench big and no one else is going to touch him as a RFA. If we can keep him as a Antoine Carr type backup for a good price that is a very good thing. Someone is going to pay him though. Trading him for an expiring is idiocy. He IS an expiring. . .
I think Quinn finds him a role he can succeed in. That is why I'm not worried right now, during these two games and in the preseason, I can see him tinkering and matching up parts of the offense and defense with the players. I just look at it as a 20 game preseason. Once we start playing the nancies in the East we will have a better idea of how we are developing.

Our fundamentals are bad. Slow rotations, going for pump fake, allowing interior players to cut in front of you to the basket.
Favors played lazy interior defense, our guards got hit by the hesitation crossover on the perimeter about a thousand times. Just overall bad, lazy, non-aggressive defense. I'm not impressed.
