Previously, you said you have done that when you would not be available to vote. If Utah allows non-absentee mail ballots, it is very unusual. They only mention absentee ballots on their website.

I get stuff from the county recorder encouraging me to vote by mail. I don't cuz I have never had to wait in line to vote. Utah does early voting by mail.

You can vote by mail in Utah, but you have to sign up for it and you then cannot vote any other way. I have all of my ballots come by mail, which I really like. The advantage is that you get to have all the time you want to figure out who should be the next dogcatcher or whatever. The disadvantage is that you don't get to sport an "I Voted" sticker on Election Day.
