Ricky shoot around comments to media

Yeah, you can see the devastated look on his face as he turned to the PR dude that cut him off with the spurs question.

Edit: Also, somebody asked the question what are the players thinking about the FO now. There is a flip side also. What does the FO think about Ricky firmly taking a shot at them.

Surely any percentage of Ricky staying now has probably plummeted.

If you are talking about the Clippers and Blake Griffin situation, yeah that was pretty low. But honestly, can you blame the Clippers for that? Because of that move (and subsequent move of trading Harris to Phili), they have a **** load of assets now and they can actually rebuild. I haven't seen any story saying that a free agent doesn't want to sign with LA Clippers because of BG situation. We'll see this summer whether they can sign anyone and if there is any damage made there.

As far as BG, he signed a 5-year max. No other team could have given him that. The only thing is that the FO took the choice where he is going to play. In return, he got an extra year on the contract. It is a fair trade off in my opinion. And honestly, playing for bad Clippers team or bad Pistons team what's the difference?

Can I blame the clippers for how they did that ??? Uh. Yeah. They wooed him with talk of retiring his jersey in the rafters .. then a few months later out of nowhere shipped him off to some NBA hellhole

Ricky time to move to the bench. It's Dantes time. Ricky would be a good bench player. The jazz need to speed the starting lineup up.

You're a sensitive one.

Obviously new around these parts if you think Rubio is the only one who catches heat here.
Dante
Royce
Jae
Favs
Neto
All cop their whack. We even have some idiots who try and trade Rudy once a year.

Ya boi is just ordinary all round.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think Ricky's received the largest share of criticism on this forum besides possibly Dante. Like where are these supposed frequent gripes about Royce and Neto? Seriously? I think he has a point in that Joe Ingles has had plenty of disappearing acts this season, but doesn't seem to draw nearly as much criticism as Ricky when he has a poor shooting night. Does Ricky deserve criticism this season? Absolutely. He's been far from a perfect player. But if you're a Ricky fan I can totally understand why you'd be frustrated with how much focus is put on Ricky from game to game.

I feel it needs to be mentioned...Memphis Grizzlies Front Office sucks.

Leaking trade details in an attempt to get leverage. Cost them nothing, costing the Jazz plenty. Same group of fools that traded wrong player earlier this season.

Sorry but this part was quite funny to read and I thought it could get lost in translation, although many people will probably understand it given the context. Lanzar mandarinas (to shoot / to throw tangerines) is an expression popularized by a famous (and unfortunately deceased) Spanish broadcaster, and it would be the equivalent to shooting bricks in English.

Now, Elfront, don't get too worked up because of what you read here or on any other basketball forum. Most fans can't help looking for a scapegoat when things are not going as they expected (regardless of whether those expectations were fair or not), and the easiest guy to root against is the one who's not that good at shooting, because for most of those fans it's more obvious and easier to assess than defense, leadership, intangibles or just being good at running an offense. You can bring a lot of those things and even do it consistently, but if you're not shooting well it's not gonna go unnoticed, and those same fans will even talk about how the rest of your game isn't that good either, or it's just not as important for the team. You just need to learn to live with it, don't pay attention to the haters, and if you still have a hard time reading them then the ignore list is your friend. There's one in every forum and it's pretty useful to avoid wasting time on trolls, haters or openly dumb (or merely ignorant) posters who would just feel naked and empty without their preferred narratives, so they just keep repeating them over and over.

As for Ricky's comments, I understand them, no player likes being offered to a different team when he's happy with his situation there and is confident the team can reach its goals, but that's the NBA for you. He'll move on right away and just give his all on the court as usual. And when July comes, he can look for a new home and find a situation where he doesn't have to go through the same experience next season. It's not like he fits the Jazz offense perfectly, nor viceversa, so it'll probably be for the best anyway.

Vaya mandarina, Daimiel!

I understand how disappointing it must be for Ricky. He found a place he liked, but it's been made clear Dennis and Quin want more production for the amount of money they're paying him. It's Rubio's fault. He's had 1 1/2 years to work on his shot. At one point last season, I thought I saw him putting more arc on his 3's. But they're flat again. I refuse to believe he couldn't have worked all summer on his game.

He's a likable guy. But it's not like he doesn't know basketball is a business. It's not high school. It's not a country club. How did he get to Utah? He was traded. Hood and Burks were likable players too. Both were traded. Favors has been the subject of rumors since Gobert assumed the starting role. Derrick just goes out and does his job. He even re-upped on a team friendly deal. If this is the last year for Ricky, I wish him well. How much demand will there be for him? I have no idea. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him in Phoenix. They've played a lot of teams tough but need some veteran leadership.

Chemistry DOES matter. But it's not dependent on one guy. Jazz will be just fine...and even better if they replace Ricky with a guard who can score. Donovan and Jingles set up a lot of plays already. Jazz need another quality guard. And whether that guy is a PG who can score or a SG who can handle the ball really doesn't matter.

Ricky deserves the criticism he receives though... so what are you complaining about?

Yeah you're right about Ricky.

The top 4 players that have copped the biggest brunt in no particular order, in my opinion are:

Ricky, Dante, Derrick, Royce.

Derrick sometimes even cops it when he's playing well. And statistically he's been our second best player still yes?
