All the posts claiming Ricky deserves criticism are mind boggling. I mean, what exactly are you faulting him for? Not being Steph Curry. The Jazz traded for a player who shot .375 from the field and .315 from beyond the arc in Minneapolis, and then you're all shocked that he's that same player here. You mean the guy who couldn't shoot before can't shoot now? Nevermind that he's actually improved while here and is shooting better than ever. No, no. Let's criticise Ricky for being the player that he is and not being some other player, real or hypothetical. What kind of logic is that? You can criticise a player because he doesn't hustle, because he's a bad teammates, because his attitude is poor. But to criticise a player for his natural limitations, that's just ludicrous.
That's like getting angry at Boban Marjanovic because he's not some fleet-footed, lock-down defender.
No thanksI could see Bledsoe being our pg next season.
That's right take note Dante Exum the starting pg. We need a pg that runs like a cheetah and has a ton of athleticism. Ricky seems to be a good guy. But watching him is boring and he can't stay with the elite pgs in the league. Ricky just move to the benchGiven the situation...I think "Take note" was better than "Team is everything"
These are my thoughts on this:
1 Context:
*Rubio talks to his teammates and they tell him how loved he is and how much they don't want him to be traded.
*Chances are Ricky asked Quin about all this and Quin told him that he wants him to stay and it's just the FO dealing him (true or false?).
*Rubio reads his twitter account and 99% of the comments are: "Do not trade Ricky" or "We love you Ricky".
*Since he doesn't read jazzfanz he doesn't know there are plenty of people who want his *** gone, his vision on this is: "everybody loves me but my FO is getting me out of here". Hence his comments.
2 It's funny (not) how fans keep talking about players not wanting to come to Utah, and when there is one who publicly states how much he wants to be in Utah, he's told to shut up and gtfo.
3 Chemistry is a plus, absolutely. Things have gone very wrong plenty of times this season and last, but this team always fights back. So much resiliency. Chemistry has a LOT to do with that. Plenty of examples of teams that literally implode and become bottom-feeders for years and years.
4 Fans keep blaming Rubio, Favors, Crowder, and Exum, but this team will get to wherever Donovan and Rudy take them. They are the ones who have to improve to TOP 10 in the league. Donovan especially isn't close to it right now. Rudy is DPOY but you need an elite efficient scorer, and Donovan isn't there yet. As soon as he is, this team is a contender with or without Rubio, Favors, Crowder, and Exum.
You all are taking the wrong way. He is just hurt because he loved the team. Thought he found a home. Im sure he realizes he isnt playing his best either.
Talk about what have you done for me lately attitude from the front office.
I think the team deserved a chance to get to the playoffs and see what they could do. Ricky was/is apart of that team. They earned that with how they finished the season last year. They also should have been given the benefit of the doubt considering the schedule this year.
Floating Ricky's name out there for a way overpaid slight upgrade in Conley was a bad idea. That trade shouldn't have been happening anyways.
You're right. But you've have to say aswell that in his good days he has been better that some of them ( Paul,Wes,Holiday, lowry). And maybe Donovan ( i love Donovan) is not as good as Curry, Durant,Lebron,George,Harden,Lillard, giannis, and others YET. Sometimes yes , sometimes not. And i'd say that Rudy...i can think in a couple or three or four names but i don't want to be insulted Lol. And Ingles, and Favs and Crowder and...more of the sameNo one is faulting Rubio for not being Steph Curry. But he’s also not:
Chris Paul
Westbrook
Irving
Holiday
Lillard
Walker
Wall
Lowry
And a few days others...
Yet another consequence of white-knuckle hanging onto Dante Exum.
