I think it fits. Swords are made of iron and are held in scabbards which is like a tunnel of darkness and it needs to be pulled back out of the scabbard to attack.

I don't know a lot about using swords, but your justification is solid. I'd take it, but if you want to keep trying I will tell you that weapons are the right track.
