Has he done a good job for the city of Toronto?

If the answer is yes, then who cares? That dude is awesome.
1. I honestly have no clue if he's doing a good job.

2. Very little of the discussion I've been privy to has focused on his job performance(I don't have a TV, don't follow local news/politics, and mostly socialize with grad students who aren't from Toronto and are too busy working on far less relevant problems/work to give a ****).

3. The one area where I've heard some debate is over how to extend/expand public transport in the the burbs (subway v. light rail). Effectively, those in the city are focused on cost/people served and prefer light rail, while those further out (and Rob Ford) prefer the subway at least in part because it would connect these areas more directly to Toronto proper and potentially increase property values/commercial opportunities/status. This seems to be a big divide in the debate. In the past, the constituent parts of Metro Toronto had their own mayors (I'm not even checking if this is correct, so take it for what it's worth), but now are all handled by a single mayor. Rob Ford is seen to represent some of these suburban populations, generally considered to be more conservative/less civilized. There's definitely an element of culture war here, unfortunately. A lot of people in the city want to go back to the way it was (I'm not sure what this would do to cost)...

4. With that said, tough on crime/drugs politicians probably shouldn't be smoking crack, getting blitzed in public or associating with known criminals. The rule of law can be a fragile thing.

The guy is boon for Jon Stewart and the other late night comics. Please, don't quit on me Rob Ford! We need you!

I'm kind of hoping he gets fired so he can replace Corbin as coach of the Jazz with the interim tag. I mean if we are going to tank, make it COMPLETELY epic.

If you want to pay fewer taxes, then Rob Ford is doing a cracking job. If you think services are nice, maybe not so much.

Populism is great that way.

Just how desperate are those Canadian staffers and prostitutes to be doing anything with that guy?
My goodness! It's like the politician version of Rick Majerus.
