Rockets Ain't ****

Really starting to feel good about the series. We seem to play much better as the dog with a chip on our shoulder.

Except last year against these guys, right? Because they literally laughed at the Jazz for winning game two, said it was no big thing, everyone felt slighted about it and the Jazz got blown out in game three, four and five. I'm not optimistic solely because Houston is just an awful match up for us.

I’m not sure why you’re getting argumentative with me. I’ve not slighted you once. In fact, I historically remember you as a strong poster here and find some validity in what you’ve said.

That said, last year isn’t this year. No Ariza. No Moute. No Anderson. Paul a half step slower. Gordon not as consistent. As hot as Houston’s been I just don’t think they’re as strong as they were last year, and I think we can catch them off guard here in the first round better than we could in the second round coming off a playoff series win against a strong opponent like last year with OKC.

I am not being argumentative...or that wasn't the intent of my post. I am just pointing out I believe the Jazz have been dismissed a great deal and face plant just the same. In fact, I'd wager they've been dismissed each of the last two semifinals they got absolutely destroyed in. My point is that this is a horrible match-up for the Jazz. Houston isn't last year's Oklahoma City or the Clippers from 2017. They're legit playing the best basketball in the NBA right now and on top of that, they're a team built to kill the Jazz. My concern is that no amount of grit and chips on our shoulder will make up for the gap between the two teams.

That’s fair.

I feel like we could beat anyone in the playoffs or play well against anyone (including the warriors) but the rockets. The rockets were the worst case scenario for us and we are going to pay for it by getting bounced in the first round

Sean reminds me a lot of Randy Quaid from Major League II. Used to be a huge fan, but that fandom bread disappointment, and now just brings misery, yet he keeps showing up to the games, keeps watching, keeps investing, when it’s clear it’s making him fairly miserable.

Man, I want Snyder to go scorched earth on the Rockets. Exploit everything. Humiliate and destroy them. So bad the owner sells and they are bought by a Seattle company and become the Sonics and the Rockets brand is dead. Even then I’ll dislike the Sonics.
