Donovan did not come into this season expecting to be a primary scorer for any team, let alone a playoff team. He is learning on the fly and one thing he has shown is that he learns quickly and learns deeply. I don't think he wants to be a high volume low efficiency scorer. But he was being asked to put points on the board and to basically just keep creating offense regardless. You have a point here about DM.
As much as I hate to agree with trolls, zzzzzzzzzz I'm looking at you, if DM doesn't improve his shot selection and shooting percentage we are not winning many chips.
Most of what has me converted to the "house of spida" is his work ethic and drive to improve. Kobe was legendary in his drive and work. I think Donovan has that same "it factor". Donovan, just the way he plays now, helps make us a good team. DM making similar progress in the off season, as he did from game one of this season to now will help make us true contenders for the crown.
I expect him to develop several moves to counter what he is setting in the playoffs. I base that optimism on what he has done so far in his bball career. From freshman season to now, the leap is shocking. Why would he stop adding to his game? No reason at all. That is why the future is so bright.
Imo

Why does anyone like Rodney Hood?
Do you have Alzheimer’s ? Don’t you recall jumping to bump your head to the lightbulb to this?
You can even see JFC celebs in the end of the clip.

That’s his own damn fault though.
Once Hayward bolted for Boston and we drafted Mitchell, “Plan A” wasn’t to throw our franchise on a rookies back and hope for the best. I think we all remember that not too long ago this front office and coaching staff were looking to Hood to step up and fill the scoring void left by the Hayward/Hill departures. The Jazz were basically begging Hood to be “The Man” and gave him every opportunity to do so. The dude simply doesn’t have what it takes.
I liked the Rodney Hood who showed up and won fourth quarters for us with incredible shooting. Everyone looks worse in Cleveland. Rodney would probably not be too thrilled about coming back to SLC a second time but if he was I would take him. He would just have a smaller role here. With the right attitude and a little more health and consistency he could be amazing here. If his market value is really low, then why not?
Rodney Hood
@ $22 million/year INSANITY (but that's what he was thinking last year)
@ $18 million/year DESPERATION
@ $15 million/year (Not sure anyone pays this in the current market)
@ $12 million/year Decent Value
@ $8 million/year STEAL!!!
Where does he fall given the last 12 months and given the lack of teams with $$$ to spend? I really don't have a clue.

Isn't there like a 1 year moratorium or something like that that says a team cannot immediately sign a player that they traded away?
(search)
Yes, there is: http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q101
- A team cannot reacquire a player it traded away during the same season (a season for this purpose being defined as starting on the first day of the regular season and ending on the last day of the Finals). If the player was traded between seasons (i.e., from the first day after the Finals to the last day prior to the start of the next regular season), it cannot reacquire the player prior to the end of the next season. If he is waived by his new team, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first6. However, if a team trades a player's draft rights, it can reacquire the player during the same season.

I'm guessing the FO and Snyder will work with DM on a game plan, very possibly along with some roster additions, to get him higher quality shots more often next year.
Donovan wasn't sure he'd have an opportunity to take 4 shots a game going into the season...
